Well. Well. Well.

No one can ever accuse the Penguins for not being committed to winning. Ray Shero strikes again!

I'll be happy for him if he gets his name on the Cup.

What I really like is that he wanted to go to the Pens and Feaster made it happen. At least that's what I'm hearing. Makes you wonder just how close that deal with Boston really was.

- tangent_man

By the sound of it, Pittsburgh could have offered TK, a second and one of the two they traded and still had the deal. Iggy picked Pittsburgh and Feaster has to do it.

This could end up with one huge celebration or one big utter disappointment. Better win the whole thing because these three acquisitions won't be around next year.
- Oneonta Penguin

There will be plenty of people rooting for utter disappointment, I'm sure. I've already seen it this entire, god forsaken shortened season, so I really don't want to wish that on anyone else.

The way I understand it, he gave Feaster a list of 4 teams. Maybe I'm giving Feaster too much credit, but he could have had the deal with Boston all but signed and faxed in, and said to Iggy, "well, Boston's a done deal...whaddaya think?" "Weeeeellllll...."

However it went down, he's a Penguin. Solid, solid addition, along with the others, for the stretch.

Whats funny is that Shero did this the old fashioned way...Reap the benefits of having excellent draft picks from the previous GM in Fleury, Crosby, Malkin, etc...then develop your prospects, work trades, maybe play the free agent market here or there to find a needed role player. Pitt really arent the Yankees in the sense of spending big money on hyped FA's. I love that people are trying to make that connection yet teams like the Wild get forgotten about.

Shero must have known it is my birthday and im going to the game tonight so he put together the Iginla trade for me.
Unfortunately, I think you are going to be stuck watching Duper on Sid's line. 1st Line of Iginla-Crosby-Duper; 2nd Kunitz-Malkin-Neal...

I could be wrong, but the only FA we signed going into this season was Tanner Glass lol

As a Yankee for since birth having grown up in NY...no. I cringe when I hear that they are bringing more big name players with big ages or big salaries rather than developing their minor leaguers. Yankees started dominating with guys like Rivera, Jeter, Posada, Pettite, Soriano, Williams etc, all from the minor leage system, then George started getting ridiculous.

Would you want to negotiate an extension with him? At the end, he'd have your wife and your house.

Call me stunned. Words can't be put in place now. I never had anything against Iginla. Damn good player. I didn't like the idea of trading huge assets for a rental that really wasn't needed.

This package is on par with a rental. A first and two prospects that weren't ranked among our top 10. He didn't cave giving up a Maatta, a Pouliot, a Harrington, a Domoullin, Bennett, Despres ...

He will return to calgary next year. If he wasn't returning, Pittsburgh would have had to put one of the top prospects in there. I seriously doubt he will be a Penguin next year. Better win his Cup ow.

So ...

Kunitz, Crosby, Dupes
Iggy, Malkin, Neal
Morrow, Sutter, Cooke
Kennedy, Vitale and whoever

I bet @NHL_Sens owner Eugene Melnyk is seeking forensic evidence that Jarome Iginla was actually traded to the @NHLBruins. #Penguins

Oneonta (and myself) were against the amount of assets it would take to get Iginla (or what they should have been), not the player
