Let's regroup boys! PP will work tonight!

"Congrats Chris, I can feel the baby kicking!"
That's a scary 4-man unit for OT. As a fan of hockey, I hope they eventually do adopt 3-on-3 OT periods after a scoreless 4-on-4 OT period. Teams like the Penguins and Blackhawks would be a treat to watch.

The whole Orpik bashing is starting to get under my skin, the guy has played very well this season. Im not sure what people whant him to do? Just because the Root camera guy shows him after a goal is scored doesnt mean it was his fault. This is not NHL13

He has his haters among Habs fans. Some of them are expecting him to be the next Roy, they need to realize that's likely not going to happen.

They need to take a look at what's going on in Tampa and stop whining.

Sorry to barge in here, I just thought I could add my point of view.

No need to be sorry. MAF has his detractors too. Similar situations with their respective fan bases.

I think the issue with Orpik is that he's probably remembered best for that shift where he leveled 3 Red Wings in about a 15-second span. And I think people expect to see that a lot more. And when they don't see him leveling people, there's nothing very sexy about his game. He was never known as being fast to begin with, and he's lost a step. Couple his loss of existing foot speed and his lack lack of exceptional physical play and you've got a guy who's a solid #4/5 that is getting paid to do more. Just my take on it.

At least Fleury has a Stanley Cup ring and can tell them to all STFU.

Hope Price can do the same one day, I'd like him to shut them up. I don't think he has been treated fairly in this city. Some fans have a serious case of bipolarism when it comes to this team. One day your are on a pedestal, the next, they can throw you under the bus.

As in most cities, the back up QB and back up Goalie are always the cynics favorite people to tout as a savior

Amazing. Fleury slightly better this season. Thanks to our change of mentality and play in the last 10 games. We are protecting him a lot more than before.

I find Price a cocky SOB but he can play and is probably a top 6 goalie in this league.

That is where I was getting at what happens if the two goalies would switch. Montreal is a more defensive oriented team than Pittsburgh. Marty B. wouldn't have had the success he has had if he were on the Penguins. Not saying the system made him, but it certainly helped him. It's easy being the goalie for NJ to me over the goalie in Pittsburgh. The system, even during Mario's days, is wide open and the opposition will get numerous scoring chances. MAF's stats and save percentage numbers are overrated in that regard. A goalie in Pittsburgh is bound to have a higher goals against average and a lower save percentage than the goalie in NJ, or Boston, or Nashville.
- Oneonta Penguin

Exactly, but MAF will have more playoff wins at the end than most goalies. For me that is what counts.

Well you can't bash Paul Martin anymore so I guess Orpik is the man. Also find it complete bull crap that some how Despres got sent down to WBS and I get that it's so nobody gets released but this guy seems to really get poop on

every goalie in MTL goes through that, I think it sucks, there will never be another Roy, he was fun to watch, you could tell he loved what he did.

He had a really bad first 15, he looked timid, it was almost like the coaching staff told him he had to play with more control and less hitting. If you look at the games after that, he has been more physical and looked much more comfortable out on the ice. Martin really did cover for him quite well until he got himself right, they are a very complimentary pairing.

Amazing how a stat line can be improved when a team shares in the responsibility of keeping the puck out of the net. Not long ago he was .901 half way through that win streak.

Maybe the lock out affected some of the Pens a little worse than others, every team will be able to find guys who are just starting to pick it up and get better, the playoffs will be good this year, it will be like mid year form; not worn down, but clicking, hopefully a lot of 7 game series to extend the year.
