Jeffery>Bartkowski, 1 of our D Prospect>Khokhlachev and our firsts are about equal. Shero get in on this and at least make the Bruins pay more.

It appears that is the package. A late first; a career AHL type in Bartkowski, who is ranked 11th by Hockey Futures within the Boston D prospects and a Russian ranked no where close to the top 50 in Hockey Futures rankings.

No offense to Morrow, but I'd would have rather had Iggy and I think Shero could have beaten that offer. Of course I don't want to see Shero part with any more of our best prospects, but geez....

If that's what it takes to get Iginla, then a 1st, Jefferey, Bortuzzo could of got the deal done

Morrow provides what we needed. Iggy doesn't.

Apparently now, it might be a three team deal ... Iggy to Boston, JayBo to Detroit, Calgary gets prospects, picks and career AHL player.

I don't think Jefferey has any value, but Morrow, Tk and a 1st seems more enticing to me from what I read about the prospects Calgary is getting from Boston.

I don't know, I don't follow other teams prospects too much, but those guys the Brooons are giving up don't sound like much.

It goes to show you, Ray never had any intention of giving up a first in this draft. Once the second went for Murray, he wasn't trading his first.

This may be true, but I've watched both Dallas and Calgary a fair amount this year and Iggy wasn't great in the beginning of the season, but really looked pretty good the last several weeks. Morrow on the other hand looked washed up......granted, I didn't watch Dallas as much as the Flames. Frankly, Morrow was demoted to the Stars 4th line at times.

It's water under the bridge and I can't question Shero, but clearly the better of the two players is Iggy. He still looks like he can be a difference maker. Morrow, not so much. Time will tell.

I like the idea of having Morrow on our team butif we compare the deals, I think we gave up a bit more than BOS did. Anyway, let's roll with our GREAT choices in Morrow n Murray and go for the cup. We have a lot of characteron this roster + Geno&Sid

Yeah, I know...

It's like food envy. When somebody at your table gets a better looking meal than what you ordered. Water under the bridge.

I just can't believe Boston is basically only giving up a 1st and some very questionable prospects for a better player..

I posted this on cal's board earlier...

iggy gets traded to boston, bos gets upset in 1st rd and goes home, pens/chi in finals, pens win, iggy signs with pitt in off season, pens dont make playoffs, iggy retires and 5 years from now iggy will think back and tell himself he should have only picked pitt to be traded to

but okay, im off to bed, work in the AM.. we shall see tomorrow...

They wanted Despres and a 1st and they got some garbage and a CONDITIONAL 1st. In other words when he doesn't re-sign they don't even get the pick. Feaster swung and missed.

i cant believe that the first itself is conditional. they really did mess this up. if the first only had to be conditional, i would have been much more open to any deal with him. oh well. spilled milk at this point.

There's no way to say Pittsburgh didn't offer the same thing. Feaster might have just panicked after the Kipper news and Pens trades and accepted less. In fact I would put money on it. If Feaster would have accepted Morrow, conditional 1st and something else Iginla would be a Penguin and B.Morrow wouldn't. No doubt in my mind.

I think Feaster got hit in the forehead by the pitch and made the deal shortly thereafter. Stunning.

yeah exactly. whether iginla or morrow was needed more by the pens can be debated, however, i cant see how morrow isnt a better prospect than what the bruins dished out.
