from clouts:
If I'm right about what is going to occur, this could be my Scoop of the Year.

It sounds like the Calgary Flames have a deal in place to move Jarome Iginla to Boston. It is believed the Bruins will give up a 1st round pick and two prospects in the deal.

Hold your breath folks...there is an Oilers angle to this.

The Oilers will be dealing defenseman Ryan Whitney, Magnus Paajarvi, and a third asset (Anton Lander perhaps) to the Boston Bruins for Milan Lucic. Then Paajarvi will be shifted to the Flames as part of the Iginla deal.

Sid does better with old guys, with above average hockey IQ. IMO Kunitz is a better player than Neal, all around. It's not like Sid is not getting anything in his line. Urban legend. He does maximize their skills though.
- Orpik44

the pens coaching staff doesnt not know how to maximize young wingers potential.. putting them on the 3rd line for few mins isnt it. They rather try to get the older guys over younger, ie despres, burtuzzo and vitale sitting over glass, tk, and engels in some games...

bennet should be top 6 or send him down to wb/s.. pens r not helping him when playing bottom 6..

Exactly. And Bennett can play with Malkin for the next 2 years.
Hell, he can even play with Sid next year. I just don't think Bylsma wants to break up the 1st line given how awesome they have been this year. Maybe if Bennett gets a full training camp then Bylsma may give Bennett a shot on the 1st line next year.

jeffrey, tangradi, johnson, and one or two others (ill find names) were all suppose to be top 6 ahl where they said they would/should be playing next to crsoby but every time they came up they were put on the back burner and never given a true chance...

Every one of those players stink and never deserved a chance. I suppose the Pens ruined Jeff Taffe too?

thats just how I feel... and I feel they r going to do it with bennett...

if he doesnt start next yr on the line with sid or geno they might as well trade him or keep him in wb/s... and like I said geno has neal, give sid bennett...

This comes with usual "anything can happen" qualifier but multiple sources saying not to expect a Jarome Iginla trade tonight.

Sid doesn't need Bennett right now. 54 points in 34 games, Kunitz is statistically havin his best year of his career, and dupuis has looked better than ovi the last 2 years. Keep Bennett with malkin

I'm not really worried about this. Let's focus on now. We have to fight for this cup and see what Shero thinks about the Iginla trade. Will he stand pat or will he try one or a couple more moves to strengthen our group? Come back Geno

if the package that has been floated out there, Calgary isn't getting what they thought they could get. It tells me Chicago, LA or Pittsburgh wasn't really involved much in this.

Agree...

I don't proclaim to know those prospects from the Bruins, but from what I've read those players are less than blue chippers.

Jeffery>Bartkowski, 1 of our D Prospect>Khokhlachev and our firsts are about equal. Shero get in on this and at least make the Bruins pay more.

It appears that is the package. A late first; a career AHL type in Bartkowski, who is ranked 11th by Hockey Futures within the Boston D prospects and a Russian ranked no where close to the top 50 in Hockey Futures rankings.

We don't need to be throwing our first and another D prospect to keep Iggy away from Boston.
