Saad would provide veteran leadership? Or do you honestly think Morrow was brought in to score? - canadianpenfan
Saad provides the same toughness and offense, is faster, younger, stronger. There is enough veteran leadership on the roster. Crosby has been in the league 7 years and has been to multiple playoffs/ finals. I think he's capable of being a veteran guy already. Same goes for Malkin, orpik, fleury, vokoun, Kunitz, dupuis, Martin, Adams |

Thank you man. I'm still worried about Boston/Montreal and Anaheim/Chicago....this won't be an easy cup to get - Orpik44
The only scary team in there is Boston. I'm not buying into the sudden stardom of Montreal or Anaheim. Both have to do with unbelievable goaltending and nothing else. Same rosters as last year, give or take a few prospects or uselss players (like prust and armstrong).
Chicago is also riding the coatails of goaltending, but they've road their offense to a Cup recently so they are legitimately scary.
There is no one in the East who can beat the Penguins if their goaltending doesn't go all Philadelphia series on them. |

That's a good point, but you can't say he still wouldn't of traded for Morrow. I still think the pens should of grabbed Saad though with the 1st pick. |

What I like about this streak is that they are showing some puck responsibility. Not just trying to run up the score. |

13 wins in a row is awesome, but damn that cup would be so much better. Hopefully on Thursday we can see a full healthy roster and get a taste of what the pens can really bring to the table.
P.s - did anyone else not like Bennett on that 4th line? I like that he's still getting playing time, but is like to see him with some skilled players |

Anyone notice if Shero had taken Saad instead of morrow, he wouldn't have needed to trade for a 34yr old? Instead, the pens could've had a young long term guy... - jchst22
Not a lot of us question Shero's choices. He has done a pretty spectacular job in most of our eyes.
That said this past year I wanted the Penguins to draft Samuelsson instead of Maatta. |

Shuttup Jerk. Henrik would be perfect on Malkins line in two years. |

We have seen this movie before. We have been hot before the play-offs with everything clicking - the offense, the defense the goaltending only to get booted in the first round. Something disappears - offense did versus Tampa and Montreal; last year, the defense and goaltending.
I agree, if everything is clicking, we are very hard to beat. Boston, depending on what it adds, could provide a major problem. They have a goalie that can steal a series. I personally want Montreal to win that division and have Boston have to deal with the fifth seed.
I'm not buying Anaheim, but I will buy Chicago. I do think Crawford and Emery have overachieved, but that offense is very good. When healthy - they parade Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Kane, Stahlberg ... that ain't bad. |

Watch Samuelsson. He hits, fight and scored 37 goals this season. He will be similar to James Neal. |

Gionta made a living running goalies. Prlck ran Fleury numerous times in that playoff series with them years ago. Not happy about it. That was more intentional than anything Cooke's done recently. |

I'd say sure, but the roster is a little crowded. From what I remember he was a solid scorer before. Good hands and nice shot, also good passer. Did he really get that bad where he was put on waivers? |

Didn't see much of the game tonight, but it seems the NHL is doing what the NHL does best this time of year, relaxing the rules. Perfect time of year for a tough, wiley vet like Morrow, and a hulking, tough Swedish defenseman. |

And not abandoning that, even if they are down late.
This goes against all of us who complained about Bylsma's lack of adjusting in the past, but if this team stays with their system, and plays hard and responsibly for all 200 feet, they will win many more games than they lose.
As annoying it has been to hear it during bad stretches, we've been shown that the whole "get to our game" thing is correct. |

Can't wait to see what Morrow can do with Geno&Neal. Niskanen&Murray should be a pretty solid 3rd pairing. Do we still play the Flyers before the playoffs?I wanna see Doug blast somebody (Giroux or Hartnell) into the glass, HARD! |

Unfortunately we're done with Philly this year, but I was thinking the same thing, would have loved to see Murrey blast fartsmell.
I'll be interested to see where Morrow finally settles. I thought Bennett has done some nice things with Geno and Neal, but unfortunately, he hasn't had much time with a healthy Malkin.

Having the top talent in Lemiuex, Jagr, Crosby, and Malkin kind of does that to a group. 5 bad years in 25 years of hockey pretty much sets the bar pretty high.
Throw in the scoring titles, Art Ross trophy's and 3 Cups yeah I would say we are pretty spoiled.
And all I can say is I want more more more.

lLooks like a Calgary move, he will not be there when the Pens have a chance to get him. This is a terrible move by the Canes and I can't even begin to understand it. |
