Oh i just saw that i think we got both confused cause i was talking of bozak and he was talking about kadri my bad, but i really dont think bozak deserves 4M+ on this leaf team.

EDIT: I believe the most appropiate salary for kadri, is duchene money. And its easy to relate both of them. 3.5 Million for about 3 years should justify it or go the route dozzer said and pay him 4M for 4-5 years which will arguably look like an amazing deal in the future

Thats alot of money man. The problem with bozak is too many people think he is good. He is playing on the first line racking 40-45 pts a season never passing the 50 mark. Besides his faceoff wins, if you put a guy like kadri or grabo, they can easily do what he does or better. 4M is not worth it. We are just overthinking this, bozak is not an elite player. He is not the greatest player on this team. I highly doubt he deserves 4M and would rather package that 4M at a higher caliber player by adding perhaps another 2M-3M on top to get an elite player signing perhaps. If we sign bozak long term, were handcuffed to mediocrity for a while with a contract that wont look good down the road.

The main goal of the leafs is to be surrounding guys like phaneuf, kessel, JVR, Kadri, Gardiner Lupul with ELITE talent.

Its probably best to trade him, would rather pay that 4M to kadri like dozzer said for 4-5 years which would look like a good deal hopefully(sort of like the JVR signing numbers), Kadri would best be signed short term 2-3 year deal like duchene for 3.5 or expand it a bit for 4-5 years for 4M

Bridge contracts, he's only had one good year. It's not like Toews/Kane who got their 5.9 (whatever) after three progressively good years. Give him his bridge of 3-3.5 mil over 2 years then as an RFA if he's still a PPG center you pay him accordingly. If this was a mirage and he's terrible, well you know what to do.

I like JVR as a 2nd line player for us long term. Big, skilled, fast. Needs to be more consistent I guess but he's still pretty young.
