Did you also notice that the Canes have 3 games at hand in the Leafs?

The gap isn't as wide as it looks.

- As_I_See_It

Yes, my Leafy friend, but let's do some fun extrapolation:

Leafs win tonight and Thursday: 35 GP, 42 pts.

Carolina loses tonight and Thursday: 32 GP, 32 pts.

That's some serious breathing room.

he's fine....just saying that jokinen could be a good fit on the 3rd line and hamilton could go back where he belongs....the ahl.

Get Jussi Jokinen for free, and trade Bozak for futures....win-win.

Would love this scenario to play out, but have a bad feeling about tonight and Thursday. Especially since Carolina has easily handled the Leafs the past two attempts. But this is the first time this season vs. a healthy Leafs team, so hope the outcome will be different.

Woah,w e play Carolina on Thursday! Excellent, claim Jussi so he can light up his former team and spill team secrets.

Oh Lord, I'm completely risking a curse for writing this, but here goes:

If my scenario above happens, the Leafs are in the playoffs.

Can't believe a 4th liner who is good at shootouts gets waived today and you guys are spending more time talking about smushing Jokinen into the lineup.

Agreed. Which is why a new C would be nice over Garbageovski. Fratts needs a C that can give him the puck. Love to get Ribeiro for Grabo
- MCharisma91

Wait you want a PPG first line center for a guy having one of his worst seasons ever?

Do go on, this is a fascinating revelation.

Carolina is also having some goaltending trouble but the Leafs have a tendency to make even call ups look like Vezina trophy winners.

Leafs Made the Playoffs This Week

By HOWARD BERGER

TORONTO (Mar. 26) – Though points are bogus and skewed in the overtime/shootout era, Maple Leafs will finally bust their seven-year playoff drought this spring. Why? Because they ended a plague against Boston, garnering three of four points in back-to-back encounters. That alone proves how different this club truly is.

We've been jinxed

Chill Winston........ I am going to the game tonight. My record this year is 6-1.

We will win.

Leafs 5
Fla 2

I guess he forgot about two seasons ago when I think we went 4-2-1 against them.

Yeah. The idea of a shootout specialist is silly, but if you were picking one up, Daugavins is the better choice than Jokinen
