I think we can go a round for sure. All depends is where we slot into the top 8. If we're anywhere between 4th - 6th, there's a good chance we'll play the habs or jets/canes. All teams we can take imo.

Makes me nervous too, but rebuilding takes patience. Plus, like you said, the summer provides options where the worst you can do is over pay in money, instead of over paying in assets like they would need to now.

His contract only calls for 1.5 million next year. So if he retires, he retires. But it may also be his way of wanting a contract extension in order to continue to play.

I think that's kinda weak on his part. I guess he's forfeiting part of his salary but you always hear guys say after they are traded that it's just part of the business...so why is he exempt?

1.5 Million salary while cap hit is what 5.8 million so after taxes he only losing out on less than a million. Sure he can afford to retire.
