The 30th place team has a 75% chance of NOT getting the #1 pick :/

We found that out already.

So... how many more games will the media label as "must-win" before they change their tune to "out of the playoffs?"
- Flyskippy

I heard someone today say "well the flyers have to go 11-4 to get into the playoffs"
...because this team has shown they can put 3 periods together, let alone a winning streak.
and I just shook my head.

does anyone know when was the last time the flyers scored more than 2 goals in a game against the rangers?

That was a serious question, but only because you are ragging on Laviolette a lot for his ice time management. I would argue he doesn't have much of a choice, as aside from Timonen, most of the D sucks (this year).
- feelingkettle

The post was sort of in jest, to counter all the people that say I'm only blaming Laviolette.

That play got progressively worse as the puck went past the last 3 Flyers. Meszaros did a bad job to contain his guy, Coburn was lazy and got his stick lifted, and Bryzgalov allowed a backbreaker.

That goal was totally on the three players.

The Flyers will get Makinnon in the draft and he will refuse to play for philly, lol.
- bird_dog

Well that's how he ended up in Halifax, he wasn't originally drafted by them. He was taken by Baie-Comeau Drakkar and told them he wouldn't play for them.

it looks bad, and yeah, it's a save you need at this stage. but nash is whipping that shot perfectly with a long reach while spinning around the net on the forehand.

i'm just not pinning any of this on bryz.

- hammarby31

I generally agree. He's been hung out to dry constantly. But he's also failed to make momentum saves when the team has needed him to. Quite frankly the skaters don't deserve the goaltender to bail them out.

It's just kinda sad.

Flyers, as a whole, are just not good for whatever reason, including but not limited to coaching, execution, chemistry, etc.

And when your team is struggling, and your D is already a weak spot, you can't really sit or reduce the minutes of those who are supposed to be your best players, even if a message needs to be sent.

I'm not necessarily talking about stats. It's his overall play.

Giveaways, bad passes, bad decisions, unable to finish. Things that he's probably experiencing for the first time in his hockey life and perhaps is difficult for him to get a handle on.

I have no inside information, but it may be a organizational decision to limit his ice time at this point to maintain his growth. He may have a personality where he'll regress if he continues not to produce. Who here really knows?

I hope he's one player that they're being very careful with.

If Darren Dreger is to be believed, they're actually listening to offers for him, whereas before he was untouchable.

They cannot play a solid enough game to win three in a row, let alone two right now. I'm glad I chose to be apathetic or I'd be stressing right now.

Of course, I'm going in for oral surgery tomorrow, so I won't be caring about anything thanks to modern medicine.

Yup. I thought Read could have gotten the puck from behind the net, but he missed it or it bounced over his stick.

Ahh, goal #5 on the night.

Bryzgalov showed them all the way into the woods.

Unfortunately he left them in there, giggling on his way out.
