i'm getting close to hating this team. very close.
- hammarby31

They are not playing well at all that's for sure.

Also, anyone see Fleury's gaffe that almost led to a goal in the Pitt game.. flubs an easy shot and then spins out of control trying to grab it.. the Habs player hits him in the back of the pads because he's facing the wrong way... This will be why they don't win.. he's awful

It's like a professor in college that some people think is really good and some think sucks. The professor may in actuality be very good, but just doesn't get through to some students. Other students they do. Laviolette is probably not a moron, but something is just not getting through for whatever reason anymore. Happens year after year to many teams, and it's happening here I guess.

I just see so many more issues other than coaching. Need to start somewhere I guess.

I think they have fallen so far, that a coaching change will happen. It wouldnt suprise me though to see Lava back next year, although even as someone who is generally a fan of his I think he needs to be shown the door. Now. I dont really want the kids ending off the year this way.

Agreed. I didnt like the deal when it was signed and I still don't like it. And I LOVE Kimmo Timonen.

Why not wait til after the season? The timing made no sense to me. Evaluate his play and how he holds up during the season before you make that type of financial commitment.

2010 playoffs

Could be coaching.. could be the lack of a vocal leader in the room. The 2010 team had Pronger.

they seem to work hard, but the effort just goes no where. they can't do anything of real value at either end of the ice. every single team they play suddenly turns into a finely tuned, systematic, checking, disciplined machine against them, whether they are good or not. they have no answers for anyone. literally. it's painful to watch.

i'm sure if you looked real hard, you'd find small things that certain players are doing well, but it's not amounting to anything. bryz is the only standing out in a good way, and he has pretty much all year.

well said. if i was a player on another team, i'd be licking my chops to get out there against the Flyers. Look at Miller and Kreider. Having a (frank)ing field day out there.

if I see Coburn or Gervais push the puck up against the boards and turn their back waiting to be hit one more time, i'm throwing this computer screen out of my office window.

Hilary trying to bang Cheif? That was about as awkward as Danny on the point on the PP.

MAF is a curious case. he can be spectacular, but also flat out horrendous (as any goalie i guess). when he's bad, he's really bad. i personally think he's overrated. yeah, he's won a cup, but look at the support cast around him. his game has calmed down and matured, but i'm not a fan.

#Flyers are just a lost team. The roster has holes but I see a collection of individuals playing with no identity. That is coaching

This sums it up better than I have in the past three weeks

It will be enraging when they string a few wins together once they are basically eliminated from the playoffs.

Look at how the Flyers play in their own zone. Almost stationary, just letting the Rangers possess the puck on the outside. Rangers make some passes to move the puck, and Nash finds a seem and it's in the net. Flyers need to be a lot more aggressive on the puck in the defensive zone.
- MJL

Its weird to me though.

They try to have structure by collapsing and forming almost a PK box yet it just allows the other team to pass at will.

When they run around they just get themselves out of position.

They are just an ugly child that you wish stayed in a bit longer.

Flyers never adjust their breakout. They always try to move the puck up the wall. Teams jump all over them. Why not adjust and use a Center breakout, with a forward coming back deep. I understand keeping the puck out of the middle of the ice. But when you have to go through a wall every time, you're going to turn pucks over. Plus constantly having to chip or flip pucks out. You have to leave the zone with possession more often.
