I wouldn't even give them Read and #2, let alone Coots.
- 77rams

If you wouldn't do a 2nd and read for yandle. I would guess you've had corrective laser eye surgery with an orange tinge thrown in

Buffalo has a lot of cash invested into Myers already. I don't think he's a sunk cost for them just yet.
- bradleyc4

the way dmen develop, i would agree, but that's quite a $$ commitment they've made. they may be willing to unload for the right price...like b schenn and coby. there'd have to be more plyrs involved for a deal like that.

Huberdeau and MacKinnon as 1A and 1B would be scary.
- bradleyc4

Panthers are going to be good with Markstrom, Gudbranson, Huberdeau and this #1

Boudreau's looking pretty good behind that Anaheim bench
- Jsaquella

i really have to give him credit.
after seeing him on 24/7 I couldnt believe someone that awkward could be a good coach, but he really does make it work

Hmmmm, good guess.

Though I don't know what that means exactly. Trade a productive, cap friendly winger and more future for a defenseless defenseman?

That?

I'd be happy to move Read for Yandle, 26 year old 2nd line winger for 26 year old offensive defenseman works for me. You have to ask yourself who would be easier to replace and it seems its easier to find a skilled winger over an offensive defenseman.
- BiggE

Because PHX is PHX they will w ant a player on a long term deal. Read for 1 yr would be the steal steal of the century.

Cant stand the guy.. he is just annoying to me, but I always felt a little bad for him down in Wash... Had a fantastic offense, but zero defense to work with.
- jak521

Well, he had Mike Green, although he was more of a winger than a defenseman. I actually like a lot of Washington's defense. I'd love to be able to poach Carlson, Orlov, Alzner, or Erskine.

I think we'll find out in the playoffs and when they're back in the lottery next year, that he's not that great of a coach.

It's a fair question. They're due for some heavy regression.

I wouldn't think twice. Hell you can pull the trigger on coburn and get a 1st + or an upgrade at forward on read. Yea not thinking twice

They are 22-6-4... Id say they are pretty much contenders... They are also 2-0 vs the Hawks.

Say the Flyers end with the 2nd pick... should they try to move up and get Jones, or take MacKinnon and go from there?

All I want out of this year is MacKinnon

Really? I can't find any news on it? On Wiki, says he passed today "as being reported by Canadian media" and I'm in Canada and don't see a thing?

I hope it's not true. Sad for hockey if it is.

More John Tavares

John Tavares is the most underrated hockey player in the game. If he played in any semi-big NHL market he'd be a household name.
