While Tortorella has done a lousy job this season, I am not blaming him for why Gaborik sucks this season.

Scored over 100 goals in three seasons with Tortorella as his coach. I think he is not comfortable with his surgically repaired shoulder. He rarely shoots, especially on a breakaway. Gaborik is known for his great release and now all he does is try that pathetic backhand moves that never works.

You can criticize Tortorella for Kreider and their anemic offense, on the whole, but I am not buying the Gaborik angle, at all.

It really doesn't matter who they trade for or who they fire. If Richards and Gaborik don't score, this team will never win.

Basically that is the bottom line, those two fail down the stretch the Rangers probably miss the playoffs.

I was actually a Torts fan until he went off on the great Sam Rosen.

Rangers play well in Philly and have there number so it's 2 points or bust tonight. I'm really hoping the road will cure the teams ills

Well the lines look very much like what we had proposed earlier today, wouldn't be surprised to see Kreider slide up to Miller's line, Richards better get it together

I'd rather see Powe in the lineup than Boyle on the wing

Is this Asham's 1st game back in Philly since the playoffs?

I hope the Rangers win JUST ENOUGH hockey games to keep Tortorella from getting fired. It's been fun seeing him pissed off behind the bench and pissed off in front of the cameras.

I don't know but I think a charging penalty to Brayden Schenn is in the works.

Rangers are actively shopping Gaborik to the 10 teams he has provided to them, Teams don't ask players with NMC to provide them with lists unless they intend to move him. Whether they move him or not, he knows his days are numbered as a Ranger. Unless he pulls some kind of rabbit out of th hat, he'll be traded or bought out at season end.
- OLDSCHOOL#6

A lot of times clubs go to players with partial NTC like Gaborik and ask before the season even starts to provide them with the list of teams. That list can be changed annually by the player. This is done to avoid the embarrassment of going to the player now to ask since it's an obvious tell you're trying to move him. If you do it before the season it is a case of "just in case." I don't know for certain that is the case here but it might be.

Agree and I said the same thing the other day. Moving him to LW may not have been the best move but as I said one of Nash, Cally or Gabby had to either play LW or drop to 3rd line RW.

I didn't read that specifically. I only saw news that he had provided a list to the Rangers.

No, you won't read it anywhere, because it's not public knowledge. However, there is a list, and other than Vancouver it's not known who exactly is on it.

Uh-oh. Cue the Gaborik for Luongo rumors as part of some bizarre three-way trade. For the old timers ont he site, where is KPE when you need him?

It is. I'd expect him to go with Rinaldo or Simmonds early on, just to get it out of the way.

Ash was actually a pretty popular player in Philly. Til last year's playoffs, of course.

I remember thinking what a POS Asham was after that play. Then just a couple of months later he was all ours. Although I'll be honest, there have been a few games I wouldn't have minded a guy like Asham doing that to an opponent. At least it showed some sort of fire even if it was misdirected.

Nah, they already passed because the Rangers would not eat a portion of Gabby's salary. IF it's gonna happen, I'd say ethier Detroit or San Jose.

Well, I think Detroit would be a great fit in Detroit. Not sure what I'd want from them though. I actually think he stays. I also think he's close to getting going. Just my opinion.
