He would add some nice depth to the 3rd line. Cap his might be a little too much for the rangers though.
- tomburton99

3mil isnt too much for a guy like him, he can grind some and score some.

Edit: For the Rangers, yea, could make things tight next year.

Rangers not on his list. They're still hot after Dan Boyle.

Mackenzie said it last night . True story

And I believe Boyle still has some "jam" left in his jar

Would be interesting to see how the dynamic changes with Boyle.

As someone posted above, by the trade deadline, the Rangers will be able to add $7.3 million of salary (pro-rated). Right now, that number is only in the mid $5 million range. I mention this, because soon, the Rangers would be able to add Boyle's salary without even having to trade Marion Gaborik. Of course, that would mean that Gaborik (or another big salary) would have to go in the off-season.

I am mentioning this, because after seeing thos pro rated salary cap numbers, I guess I wouldn't be shocked if a Boyle deal got done without including Gaborik.

No adding on salary without a trade; too many youngsters have to be signed soon. Lundqvist & Callahan are also due for raises in one more season. A guy like Jokinen will do nothing but complicate financial matters. Let the Devils claim Jokinen and then lose Clarkson to the Leafs in the summer.

That would be a very interesting situation. Thing is, do the Rangers get value for Gaborik or Boyle in the offseason from other GMs, them knowing they have to move one of those contracts to resign the young guys.

Sharks will trade Boyle for more than what they gave up Murray for. Would be stunned if they only want a pick and a prospect for him.

I am 100% certain the Rangers can get value for Gaborik this off-season, because there won't be too many available snipers on the open market. Could probaby get pretty good value for Boyle as well.

I think Detroit would ask about Gaborik. Brunner has really hit a wall and some of their other wingers are up there in age. Detroit has a few good prospects that I think the Rangers should look at.

They'd finally have a natural point man for the pp.

But I wonder because Murray was dealt are they gonna trade another dman?

If Boyle and Gaborik are both here come the offseason I would almost guarantee Gaborik is dealt at the draft.

Detroit would love Gaborik, IMO, and I think he would be good there.

Doesn't have to be a THE go to guy, plus he gets his choice to play on line with Datsyuk and Filppula or Zetterberg and Franzen.

Abdelkader, Andersson and a pick, saves money and adds depth.

Hope so, I dont know which one of them Id trade if we have them both going into the offseason. I guess you can call that a "good" problem to have.

I like Abdelkader, I was actually think of Sheahan or Sproul(I think Sproul is going to be a good player. Almost a Dan Boyle type ) and a pick.

You are right about Sproul. I have seen him play live, and he's got a big shot.

Who's Anderson? Not familiar.

Abdelkader has "jam" and a cool last name

Andersson is a good two way player and first year forward for the Wings. Abdelkader has potential to be a solid second liner with some toughness.

Yea yea, him lol.

However, Calle is playing quite well in Sweden, got some nice offensive numbers.
