Douglas Murray is 100% worth two measly draft picks even as a rental. Pens have to get to 2nd round of playoffs or resign Murray; if they do neither, 2014 pick is a 3rd.
2nd, Conditional 2nd, 5th, and Joe Morrow for Douglas Murray, a 3rd, and Brendan Morrow?
And these guys are now on the Penguins? The same Penguins that are on a 12 game win streak and have two of the best players in the world as their top 2 centers?

It must be fun to come to work in the morning if you're Ray Shero. No one cares if you actually attend the draft in the spring because your roster is so good, and every piece of trade bait wants to come win a cup with you. |

I like him better so I will take back my "arguable" comment. I was throwing it out there to appease nuck fans. I agree with you guys so it doesn't make a difference. Point is, if they can decrease a dman for offense, it would help them. - bsteinley
So they get to go without their top Dman? Why so they'll need to score more? Meanwhile, you get a starting goalie and a top pairing Dman for your trash. Nice work. |

Vancouver needs forwards. A second and a third line. If they want they can have a center prospect or belanger if they need but burrows can move down to the kesler line. They need to add offesnse and part with salaries. I didn't say Lou and Hamhuis for Hemsky. I also added smid and prospects. This allows them to add affordable players on their 3rd and 4th lines as well they can save close to a mil if they can sign smid for 3.5 and hamhuis is not that much better than smid. Plus they can spare a dman. I am not sure Gillis isn't on his way out anyways but you tell me another team that can offer them cheap fillers for their bottom 6, a slight decrease on one of their over paid dman and give them a top 6 for their goalie.
Need makes unthinkable trading partners possible. - bsteinley
I was just using the higher end pieces to compare to see if the trade was fair ... I rate hamhuis and luongo higher then Hemsky or smid .... If you wanted luongo and hamhuis you would have to do gagner smid |

I wanted him over Kreuger. Has climbed the ranks well - I think he may have interviewed in EDM as well. |

I'm watching the game, and it's the same garbage all over.
1: Ralph Kreuger must be Kirsten Stuarts dad. This guy has no emotion behind the bench at all. Sweet Jesus, when you get scored on, don't just stand there looking flabbergasted.
2: Yakupov looks dangerous, like he should. Keep giving him chances.
3: Clouts want Dekeyser??? J.Shultz is playing great, but he's getting worked. Dekeyser can go to Detroit. We need grown men.
4: No puck support in period 2.
And completely unrelated. I watch Patrick Kane and just marvel at the magic of this guy. Taylor Hall is not Patrick Kane. He needs to calm the frank down.

There's no point even trying really. They wouldn't trade any of their top guys straight up for Lidstrom in the prime of his career. |

Richard Cloutier: Pens Set Market for Oilers; NHL Trade Deadline - Maxbone
Another determining factor is the potential signing of free agent defenseman Danny DeKeyser. The Oilers are meeting with him on Wednesday, and they're bringing out all the big guys. Oilers VP of Hockey Opps Craig MacTavish will be there, but I believe Head Coach Ralph Krueger, former NCAA signing Justin Schultz, and great Oilers from the past will all be involved in attempting to sell DeKeyser on coming to Edmonton. DeKeyser's agent Don Meehan just happens to be Schultz's agent, and met with the team today in Nashville. I'm pretty optimistic about the Oilers chances of landing him. 49% chance, maybe? Hey, those are solid odds. I think it comes down to the Oilers or Wings...perhaps the Wings have 51% because of home court advantage.
Im sure you will land him. If he went anywhere else that would be criminal. No rumours about attitude which is good, unlike when you accused Schultz before he signed anywhere.!! |

Much better effort in the 3rd. Took it to them. Too bad we dug ourselves a giant hole. Well it's looking pretty bleak now. I'd like to see them compete as best they can as opposed to trying to get a high draft pick. |

3rd was the period to watch, but I understand that they didn't earn your eyeballs after the first two periods. |
