lol Trolling is the first comment. 2nd one is the truth. Go ahead and argue the stats or the fact that the Oilers need multiple 1st overall picks and can't even sniff at the playoffs. Kadri is finally given a chance, and now in hist 1st full season is playing great. I do watch some Oilers games from time to time. Eberle this season has played like Kessel. Meaning he's barely noticeable. RNH I don't need to say anything about. But Hall is so overrated. Just if you have time, look at the Leafs vs Bruins games and look at what Kadri does. He doesn't back down from anyone despite his small structure. And he will only get better...out of the top 20 scorers in the NHL, he has the lowest icetime. It is sad the Oilers are this bad with all these picks.

I hear ya dude. I'll be in California during the LA/ ANA games in early April.

REALLY want it to mean somethin or I'm thinkin one of the games will be good enough.

- Salvo

You could probably catch some other team playing LA or Anaheim, maybe even watch them play each other. That would be fun.

Or, you could go to Disney.

I think Messier for GM would be the best, players would be scared to see him walking in to the locker room after a game like today.
- AlEx_OiL

I'd rather have him as a coach. He'd scare the sh1t out of half the team.

Watched the game and thought the Oilers worked hard in the first. The second they stunk and they didn't put up any effort until Horc's fluke goal. After that they put up a really good effort.
It is up to the head coach to get these young guys working hard ALL THE TIME. He shows no emotion on the bench and while it is a short season management should own up to their mistake in judgement and make a change before it is absolutely too late.
High draft picks are great but enough is enough.

I heard Tencer saying some Oilers fans are saying to trade Hall and Yak to get older players so I say those fans need to be punch on the cojones.
- AlEx_OiL

no oiler fan who has any clue would ever say trade hall.

it's really just the oiler apologists excuse for saying the people who dont want more picks/prospects are wrong.

we dont need to to trade any of the 5 at this point. we have some pieces that can bring back some real value.
dont use hemsky to get another pick for god sakes tambs. use him in a package to get a roster player.

tencer was also talking about that same boring nonsense about not booing the kids after the game against the blues. management has deserted the fans and refused to give the kids any real proven help to stop them from knowing nothing but losing. theyve turned the oilers franchise into a pereniall joke. a rebuild is one thing, but to just wait on high picks for 4 straight years is laughable.

booing is the least we should be doing.

Give the coach a break, you can't fire a coach after a 31 game audition, this isn't the NBA. Change has to occur somewhere within the organization (players to gm), but there isn't a chance Kruegers getting/deserves the plug until after he has head coached an entire NHL season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are the worst run NHL franchise in modern history. Your team is the definition of a joke. Kadri who???? Oh yeah, that kid that couldn't crack the lineup of the worst run team in modern history FOR TWO YEARS STRAIGHT.

Kadri IS getting icetime, he should actually be doing more with it.

I FULLLLLLLY agree with this....but Mess doesn't want the coaching job. He wants to be GM of the NYR.

You know, I just popped my head into the leafs thread.

Something about them needing to pick up Ryan smythh

I skimmed a few comments and have discovered that I have been wrong all along

You may all have you ideas about who the best player in the NHL is.

Well you are wrong just like I was.

According to a very stubborn poster in this thread crosby Malkin towes Tavares ovechkin none of these players or any of the rest of the players you may suggest are the single best player in the NHL

In truth it is Alex steen

The Lays chips gig didnt pan out so well.

Kreuger is brutal. Sure, give him the rest of the season. He will make a case against himself.

This is what the oilers will do between now and draft.

1) draft 4th, we will get barkov

That is all.

What I'd like them to do:

1) draft barkov
2) trade for Samuelson
3) sign clowe or Horton
4) trade hemsky and gagner for proven nhler that can slot in the top 4 or bigger second line centre. Obviously not an all star but perhaps a two way guy is obtainable.

- ystoil

I agree with points 1,3 and 4.

I also agree with point 2 (I was yelling at the TV at the draft trying to get Tambo to trade up for Henrik Samuelson) but of course he did nothing and has done nothing since he's been our GM. Like I said, I agree with trading for H. Samuelson but are you ready to trade Yakupov for him cause that's what it'll take. Samuelson is the next Perry.
