St. Louis actually has the most amount of money to work with. They are the last team in the league as far as Cap goes. They have plenty of money to work with, so that's not really a problem right now.
- HonkFortheGoose

I think I also have about 8 restricted free agents going in the next season. And 4 of their defenseman as well. That money will go away quick

It will. But they have $33 mil in cap space for next year. Armstrong will be busy that's for sure. They have 7 that are RFA. Looking at the UFA's, I don't know that they opt to resign any of them. Langenbrunner, MacDonald, Redden, Nichol and Chris Porter comprise that group.

It wouldn't be the first player to have done something like that.

on a related note, I really do things Stafford would return the form after trade I think he's just sick of Buffalo and wants to get out

I don't think he has the drive. He doesn't really seem to care most nights when he's out there. Maybe a trade would be the kick in the ass he needs. I feel like any improvement he makes after the trade wouldn't last long though.

Trade him for a case of Molson Canadian and a Zamboni Tire.

I think he's part of the reason that we're doing better. As crazy as it sounds. I said about 2 weeks into the season we needed him back. He's great at puck possession and the rest of the team is pretty bad at it. He's helping right now.

That being said, I would love for this team to get young and do it quickly. I would trade just about every veteran guy on the roster with the exception of Ott and Ehrhoff. Build around the guys like Foligno, Ennis, Hodgson, and Myers.

Flynn, armia, and zemgus are going tobe great additions once fully developed to add to that young talent core

is Darcy's tactic to wait to deadline day to derive maximum value?

I would trade anyone that a team would over pay for IMO that's how you properly rebuild . If someone wants to wow Darcy for Ott, I say do it, we have a few young guys like Foligno who could maybe wear a C in a few years

I think Girgensons is gonna be in Rochester for at least another half of a season. But I agree. It's time to start fresh and they've already got quite a few pieces to help start the process

Everyone is. 57 is going nowhere.

Go figure: decent teams call crappy teams looking for the crappy team's best players.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this but, Myers has actually looked pretty good lately. And they've been winning. Same thing happened last year. He finally seemed to get his poop together and then they started winning. It can't just be a coincidence.

Agree. Especially liked the physicality with which he played Saturday night in the 1st. I wish he would get one good hit in every other shift. That would be a start.

I'd also like to see him replace 29 on the powerplay point. He's the franchise defenseman, like it or not. He should be playing in more situations.

I think part of the problem is that he wasn't trusted because he couldn't handle the minutes. I hope this year was a wake up call to him that he needs to do more on his own conditioning wise in the offseason. I almost would like to see Hodgson get him to go to Gary Roberts camp over the summer. I would probably do him a lot of good.
