Semin got so much undeserved hate. Had career numbers like Parise, but because he wasnt the captain or leader on a team that invested everything into Ovechkin, or possibly because hes Russian, hes not worth the money.

Its not a bad investment at all. He plays well with Staal.

I don't believe it was un deserved. The guys work ethic in washington was atrocious (masked at times by his talent level) and he's not exactly a coaches favourite. And from what some of the capitals players have said he's probably not the greatest teammate either. The dollars might be okay but 5 years is quite the commitment and if the situation turns into what it was in Washington the Hurricanes will be stuck with him at that cap hit.

Edit: He's also 29 going on 30, not sure how much longer this production will continue.

If it has to do with the Sabres, most likely. Rumors that we're involved in usually never come true. Unless it's talk about a guy walking after his contract expires. Those seem to true more often than not.

I don't think they do that at all. I don't have a problem with Rolston in general, but I think his talents are best served developing the young kids for now. I'd like him to go back to Rochester. But I really have no idea who they should bring in for here at this point. I don't think Housley is interested and it's a bit scary of a thought even if they did consider him, being that he's a high school coach at the moment.
