Semin got so much undeserved hate. Had career numbers like Parise, but because he wasnt the captain or leader on a team that invested everything into Ovechkin, or possibly because hes Russian, hes not worth the money.

Its not a bad investment at all. He plays well with Staal.

I think the problem is that a lot of people see similar things in him as they did Kovalev. They both could be streaky but have the ability to take over a game if they choose. The problem is they don't do it as often as people would like.

I hope that makes sense to someone else.
