wow if Pens still manage to get Iggy......... - wicket
Pittsburgh moved on a week ago. It's fairly obvious.

So are we supposed to think from the pic and hints that the 'big rumor' has to do with Ovechkin? |

Why isn't he destroying the league from Calgary? - Kineada

Not that I think this is going to trade for iggy now but what is wrong with Malkin Neal iggy ? - Redmile247
Nothing,
Except that your GM's asking price is more than Shero was willing to pay...hence the Morrow deal...
The pens lead the league in goals. They needed a grit and sandpaper guy who could round out the middle 6 forwards more than they needed Iggy. We still love Iggy, but it isn't going to happen. |
|
|
|
I have no problem with that. That line would be nasty. I just dont think, after the trades he's made, Shero will give up the asking price for Iggy, unless he had certainity that Iggy was resigning with Pittsburgh for a cap friendly deal. - cap1681
I think he would take a 2-3 year deal at a very reasonable cap hit to stay in a contending situation .... He has been paid quite well in his career and I don't think money is on his mind |

Maybe I'm crazy but does this make sense to anyone else? Flyers send Briere and Laughton (or pick) to Kings for Bernier? Seems like it would help both teams and they have good reps with each other. This gives the Flyers the ability to amnesty Bryz at years end and clear up significant space... |

It's true. No knock against his talent, but it's hard to imagine a player of his skill NOT putting up those kinds of numbers playing with a Crosby or Malkin... Ask yourself, why weren't his numbers even close to that in Dallas? - Flyers_V88
His numbers were pretty good in Dallas.
2008-09 - age 21 - 24-13-37
2009-10 - age 22 - 27-28-55
2010-11 - age 23 - 21-18-39 in 59 games with Dallas.
He's gotten better every year. He is only 25 right now. |

You're correct. I haven't. But what does that have to do with anything? If one man is so beastly that he's going to tear up the league, he should be able to do it from Calgary as easily as anywhere else... |

Ducks Bruins - mighty13duck
Pittsburgh just handled the Bruins twice with the backup goalie. Anaheim looks really good but considering the major problem with line matching the Penguins pose, I don't think Anaheim has the depth necessary to bleed a series out.
I don't want to see a healthy Blackhawks, and I'm very wary of St. Louis. They're going to be a major problem in the West unless they play up on two wheels like Pittsburgh did last season. |

Calgary has played most of the year with ONE center in the lineup
Matt Stajan...not even being cute, when Backlund got hurt they had ONE CENTER

Right.....just like Dupuis would have 15 goals on the Panthers because he's so sweet. |

Like I said, nothing at all against him as a player and his talents, as he is one of the best wingers in the game. My main point was that, he like any player playing with Corsby or Malkin, is the beneficiary of great play-making ability and true superstar talent.
I still think he would produce no matter where he played, but that his numbers may be slightly elavated as a result of playing purely with Malkin. |

Realistically, it was the exact same thing last year too. More than good enough to beat any team in a 7-game series and win the Cup. |

That's fine. This all started when someone said that Neal would be bumped off of Malkin's line for Iggy. |

This thread might as well read "Pitt drafts Crosby". It would be equally as timely.

lol. I wouldn't even do that if I was the Pens and got Iggy somehow. I'd keep Malkin and Neal together for sure. |
