Right....I forgot that everything revolves around the Penguins. Thanks
- The-O-G

I don't think he came across that way. 4 is greater than 3....and lets be honest, the Hawks are not legitimate suitors. So, 3 becomes 2. Each offers, and counter-offers, until it is agreed upon. and IF the Pens are still interested, it keeps his value where it was Saturday...otherwise Morrow diminished it.
Edit: The only reason this logic does not apply is IF both Boston and LA feel like they HAVE to have him to win. LA already won without, so I doubt they feel this way. Boston is largely on a tear the entire season, and would need to feel compelled to keep up with the benjamins....yet, PC or DL don't strike me as these type of ppl.

In a way, it is unfortunate Iginla picked the last 4 winners. If he picked a desperate team too, it would be in Calgary's best interest.

Thank you for making my point in a different way

I would then say that since a team has already exhausted one of the assets, the demand for the remaining ones would be higher even though the supply and demand dynamics haven't changed. All of the same things are on the table, but it's a smaller table.

Yep. I wish more ppl analyzed sports, and potential trades, in an Economics foothold. Supply has diminished, but demand has more significantly, due to the restrictions of the NTC. It is inevitable the value diminished, unless there was one of the remaining suitors willing to go 'all-in'. Since he picked the last 4 winners, I think none of them are, nor have to be.
Value diminished, excepted with a stroke of luck.

It just happens that Pittsburgh made a move before LA, Boston, or Anaheim. I think the value for Iggy is only going up.

I think you two have killed the poor lad by means of "head exploding due to economics overload".

Anaheim is not on his 'list' (if believed to be true).
Now, if it was, then yes it goes up because you increase the suitors (im ignoring the hawks) by 50%. I am hopeful the list is amended, in light of recent events.

I never said they weren't good. They just happen to be a good team nobody outside of Nashville cares about. In a "real" hockey town like mine you see Jersey's from the home town team (70%), loyal transplant fans like Flames and Canucks (5%), Original 6 Teams (15%) and the rest belong to the "sexier" teams like Pitts,Philly, LA and Washington. As I'm sure it is the same in all the other Canadian markets,Nashville Jerseys are spotted about as often as Bigfoot. That's all I'm saying...of course, a Rocket Richard trophy or a Stanley Cup would change that, but I don't think your in danger of that happening any time soon.
- Jeropotato

Your mistake was thinking there is anything to care about outside Nashville.

Caps should trade for a veteran stay-at-home Dman and top 9 winger; I think that'd fill the roster and set us on our way to Cup domination...should we get there.

In fact, Iggy is probably going to cost whoever gets him MORE now because Morrow is off the market. Morrow would be the go-to for whoever doesn't get Iggy, but whoever that would have been, the Penguins ate their lunch.

Now it's between trading for Iginla, or trading for Ryan Clowe. How much more do you overpay so as to not end up with Ryan Clowe?

And what "real" hockey town would that be?

I also never said anything about Nashville being a hockey town. It will never happen. Football reigns supreme here now and forever.

- PoileRulezzzYo

Coming from probably the most irrelevant team in the West...these are strong words. The (frank)ing Oilers get more play than the Flames do...
- PoileRulezzzYo

The Flames are irrelevant? This coming from Nashville? Bahahahahhaha

Hey I'm not a Calgary fan,I'm from Edmonton, but I couldn't help to see his point.Unless Nashville does something in the playoff's, they are not that relevant to the rest of the league, off the ice at least.Nobody cares. They simply don't have the History. I suppose the same can be said about Florida.

I hate to say it, but excepting pedigree, what is so discernible as to emphatically take one over the other? One has a lower price, a similar (at this pt) skill set if equating value per dollar, and are both offer solid contributions.
Obv, we are comparing top 9 to top 6 talent, but, at half the price for roughly 70% of what you get for Iggy.
If Clowe's shoe drops first, the Flames are screwed.

I don't care about Nashville being relevant to other fans. But the fact is...the Calgary Flames are irrellevant and it makes me laugh that they think they are not. The only reason ANYONE talks about the Flames is because of the pieces they should be trading away to start their rebuild that they should have three years ago. The Flames are the Toronto Maple Leafs of the West.

I have no illusions that the Preds ever win a Cup. But atleast this franchise is in the conversation come playoff time year in year out.

It's like that scene in A Beautiful Mind where he explains how if everyone goes for the hottest girl right away you'll more than likely you get rejected and then rejected again by the "runner up" because she's pissed you didn't pick her first, but if you just go for the "runner up" in the first place you have a much higher chance of succeeding. Boom, Morrow to the Pens and Iginla's value just increased.

Anaheim should be buyers tho so they will be after other players that could go to teams on the list ... Thus playing a role in all this

Until Iginla adds them to consider, which I honestly don't see him doing, they play little role in this.

Is there a better name in the NHL other than Klinkhammer? Maybe Clitsome?
