I don't want any more money committed until Pittsburgh has resolved its' Letang and Malkin contract situations. I would trade a D and a 1st for Iggy right now though, that's for damn sure. We are going to have cap space problems very soon; sometimes creating a gap in owing high round picks or prospects for a season or two is how retaining premium players can work. Keeping them both is going to be very difficult. - Johnny Wrath
Not as difficult as you think. I don't see Malkin getting much of a raise, if any, from his current 8.7 mil cap hit. |

Dupuis scored 25 last year without Crosby for the majority of the season. - cap1681
He is in his mid 30's and has scored 20 goals once before that. The dude is average, at best |

Morrow has 11 points and Murray is -3 as a shut down guy
Pens are a good team but they are not some massive favourite because of these moves...Whoever gets Iggy is the Fav - flashfire
I don't put a lot of stock in the +/- stat. If you are on a bad team, especially one that doesn't score a lot, that number will be skewed. Will these players work out? We won't know for a month or so, but I am happy they were brought it. I believe the market has been set too, I would rather set the market, than be the person who tried to buy in it. Calgary can now go, this is what Morrow brought, this is what we will need. The Pens have set the market price, and now teams must either decide to pay the price or sit pat and hope they have enough. |

Coming from probably the most irrelevant team in the West...these are strong words. The (frank)ing Oilers get more play than the Flames do... - PoileRulezzzYo

I don't think anyone thinks Duper is anything but a really good fit for Crosby. He is a solid winger, with decent hands...but has great chemistry with Crosby. He has learned how to play with Sid, probably not as easy as people would think. |

He is a guy any team in the NHL would love to have. Maybe not in a top line role, but he plays all out, all the time, is fast, can hit, can score, and kill pentalties. Doesn't do one thing great, but is good at every aspect of the game. |

I guess. I just tired of him quickly when he was here. Inaccurate shot, and seldom did he display any of this aggressiveness and checking which you speak of. |

Haha OK dude....thanks for that!
Enjoy the injury-riddled Morrow and slow as molasses Murray. Not to mention that gopher toothed, cheese grater for a goalie you have. - The-O-G
Enjoy watching reruns of Trailer Park Boys since your team won't even be in the playoffs. |

EXACTLY!!!
I hear the words "complimentary" and "depth" and I want to puke. Iginla is an impact player and can change a game around. - The-O-G
But on a team like the Penguins, that's exactly what he'd be, "complimentary" and "depth". Sorry. |

I'm not sure who that would be besides Chicago, whom do not have the cap space.
The Pens are a massive favorite because they have the 2 best players in the league, a Norris D-man, a goalie that's a veteran with a Cup ring, great depth at every position, and a 12-game winning streak that includes 2 against Boston. Then they added more grit and leadership without parting with anyone on the roster.
If we're going to cherry pick stats, Pascal Dupuis has more goals, points, and is +26 more than Iggy. So whoever gets Dupuis is the fav?
