1. Penguins aint franking around this year.
2. Shero knows that considering they were knocked out in the first two rounds since 2009, this team needs to make a run.
3. Shero probably looked at Iginla, but seeing that CGY wanted the Penguins 1st, he moved in a different direction.
I actually like both of these moves. both guys could stay with the penguins next year or more.
people are saying Murray is old and having a bad year. keep in mind that 4 or 5 dman will be playing ahead of him. we don't need him to play 20-25 minutes a game, we need him to make good decisions and keep the front of the net clear.
and to the flyers fan who said that our goaltending and discipline will decide how far we go in the playoffs, I couldn't agree more. |

Has anyone else noticed that Ek reported on the last 2 trades within minutes of them being announced...and only after they were announced elsewhere, everywhere? WTF makes anyone believe that he knows anything???? "sources" my ass! unless that's what he renamed his stupid (frank)ing dog - callmesomeone

You seem like a mean little person. Who pissed in your Post Toasties?
Face it, Iginla must not be the "beast" you think he his. He'll only be second prize now in this contest! In Monopoly terms, that will net him ten bucks form the Community Chest! |

What ppl don't seem to u get is that assets are great when your rebuilding .... But Pitt isn't rebuilding ... They are cup contenders .... Who's to say any of their top end prospects turn out to be anything special .... They have promise but you never know ... By the time all the prospects they have are nhl ready who knows if Crosby Malkin letang etc are healthy ... |

Yep. Their time is now and Shero knows it. They are relatively healthy and coming together. Kudos for Shero for going for it. |

Until we see how the Refs have been programmed to call the "second season" who knows what these trades are good for.
Does NBC have major markets to be coddled?
Those are the factors that make up good trades in 2012/. |

Haha OK dude....thanks for that!
Enjoy the injury-riddled Morrow and slow as molasses Murray. Not to mention that gopher toothed, cheese grater for a goalie you have.

I really hope it's Pittsburgh v Vancouver in the Finals so Tanner Glass can skate the cup around in your building. |

That gopher toothed cheese grater for a goalie is the one of the few goalies who can survive on this team... Throw any other goalie on it and see how they deal with ugly odd man advantages more often than not. Fleury is well liked and is a part of the core. |

Don't worry, he's out east. They don't really get the impact of Iginla because they don't see it on a regular basis. If you were to look at Iginla. Just his stats, thats beast enough. Then you look at how (before this years team of uninspired goons) if he fought changed the whole game. Then look at what he has done for the City of Calgary, charity, donations etc. Whoever cashes in and gets Iginla, is getting more than they think. |

It's really crazy how unforgivable losing a World Jr. Gold on a goalie-plays-puck gaffe can be after this many years.
I wouldn't be shocked if Morrow sells out on his first shift and separates his shoulder throwing a check at Rapha Diaz. |

I disagree Ek! The Ducks will have something to say in the west, and I see Boston making a few moves in the East to counter the Pens. In the playoffs, toughness, goaltending, and defense wins championships. Boston is bigger, tougher, and has better goaltending than Pittsburgh. When they add some scoring depth, I think they will beat Pittsburgh. Just my opinion..... |
