GREAT move by Shero. The Pens just got a LOT harder to play against in the past 24 hours.

Letang-Despres
Orpik-Martin
Niskanen-Murray

Eaton, Engelland, and Bortuzzo to the press box.

That, my friends, is a solid top 6.

- Emperor Filonius

Bylsma scratches Despres every chance he gets. Not going to play 1st line after another addition.

Orpik - Martin
Letang - Murray
Eaton - Niskanen

Engo 7th Despres to WBS and Bortuzzo not a Penguin soon. Sucks for Despres

I don't see Eaton coming out, really I just don't know how they can do that. He has been stellar.

I think they roll with 7 dmen. Murray is there for the PK more than anything else. I'll wait to see what other trades shake out before saying for sure, because I think there are more coming.

Jeffrey will be on waivers by tomorrow at noon... He'll be in Wilkes-Barre for the weekend.
- rival22

If he goes on waivers somebody will claim him. No way. We have to trade one d-man and maybe trhow Glass+picks in a trade.

Murray will be in the bottom pairing. Eaton would be with Letang in this scenario IMO.

You could do a lot worse than Niskanen and Murray as a bottom pair. With Despres available it is great insurance for any injury concerns.

I could see Bortuzzo or Engelland being moved or Glass being waived.

I would drop Glass before Jeffrey for sure.

No you don't and I would keep Jeffrey because he's a solid fill on the top 3 lines. However defense is a numbers game and you might have to move Bortuzzo just to make a trade unless you're OK wit Despres in WBS
- lloyd095

No, he's not....

Name one thing that he does well. He's not a bad player, but on this roster he has no place. He's not physical, he's not a finisher, he's not a playmaker, he's not a tremendously fast skater.

Every other forward on this team has at least one skill area that they excel at, and fit in a role. Jeffrey is just a mediocre jack of all trades.

I severly doubt Shero is trading any current roster player out of town. CapGeek says Pens have 26 players currently on their roster. More likely than not, the log-jam gets cleared up by Pens sending Smith, Despres, and Bennet down to WBS for the next two weeks. On April 3rd at 3:01 PM, they come back up to the NHL.

Boston will have to jeopardize their future to get Iginla now just to play catchup. The advantages of being proactive.

Agreed. Based on past experiences, Eaton could see time with Letang. Murray is nothing but a 5th-6th physical d-man (a very tough dude at 6-foot-3, 245-pound)

Despres has played well enough that a demotion to WBS would be insulting. He will stay up and the Pens will trade Englland or Burtozzo .

I know good play when I see it. The things he does well aren't going to whack you over the side of the head with a sledgehammer. He is even more understated than Martin.

I love Despres too but Shero/Bylsma are leaning towards veteran presence right now.

It'd be interesting to see 7-defensemen for a few games, double-shift a center with the 2 fourth-liners.

Eaton makes things symple...doesn't look like he's trying hard at times. He can definitely play. Calm guy.

I don't think I could have hand picked 2 better players than Morrow and Murray for the Penguins. Addresses toughness on O and D. I couldn't be happier.

Isn't it wonderful?

It will be interesting to see what Montreal will do. I'm thinking that Bergevin will not want to give up any future, but the fans/media there will be putting pressure on them to improve and not "waste" this good season.

Your entire 4th line is waiver fodder. What are you talking about? They play for the best and most arrogant organization in the NHL

Anyway, I think we can get something for them. Winnipeg would be my choice to send them as they have good pieces to trade for.

If Tangradi can manage to land a seventh, those two can get a fifth rounder easily.
