Now that the Sharks have finally ditched that cancer Murray, they are beating up on the Ducks 3-1
- MadCap2008

Too bad you can't unload your own cancer in Ovechkin your team is sick

What about Jim Slater? A former US national team player and a 4th line C. He can take draws well.

Important: he's 30 already and makes $1.8M I think...not sure.

Winnipeg is still fighting for a playoff spot, no?

"Mike Ribeiro: The negotiations are pretty intense to keep Ribeiro in Washington, but I am hearing of a possible Douglass Murray for Ribeiro swap....(with some other pieces in the mix)"

Murray traded to the Penguins.

I found that quite funny

Let's wait and see...he'd be ideal for out bottom 3...

I'd take Talbo back for the 4th if the price was right and we can't get Slater

Do you really think Holmgren would help Pittsburgh? I don't.

What I loved about that is he posted that rumor blog like
30 minutes before Murray got traded.

There were a few big media guys on twitter making fun of EK

I believe the guys around their 50s today were lucky enough to get the best rock'n'roll ever. Led Zeppelin in the 70's was a thing of beauty. Why not say the same about the ACDC Bon Scott era?

So Morrow will be wearing #10. Glass said "It hasn't been good to me". lol No kidding.

Glass now will wear #15 from Jeffrey and he switches to #17. Murray gets #3.

True. Black Keys live are as good or better. Really. Seeing them at Consol April 30th. Excited.

5 years/$7 mil per is insane IMO (especially with the cap going down), but I don't know Carolina's salary structure well enough to say if it is a disastrous signing for them. I thought a realistic salary for him would have been $4.5-$5 mil per for 5 years, but maybe I am undervaluing him.
- MadCap2008

The cap coming down is only an issue for next year. Next year is the lowest cap number allowed in the new CBA, it can never go lower. And as we all know, it will continue to climb after that.

The reports are coming from sources from Calgary. They are trying like hell to build a bidding war for him. Rational people know Pittsburgh isn't after him and moved on. Their actions speak loud and clear.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pens aren't floating that idea out there either. If Boston thinks that Shero is still in, it might force them to step up early and offer more than they want to, to get him before Shero does.

Not only did Shero get the guys he wanted, but he set the market, and got other GM's scrambling. You gotta think that GM phone calls turned up a notch yesterday as they were watching what Shero was doing.

Dude's a trade deadline ninja.

The way all these names get thrown around here you would think we have a 50 man roster, play 10 guys on the ice at a time, and have no short or long term salary cap.

The phone calls to the Sharks certainly picked up. I read about that. Wilson said they will start exploring different avenues over the next 5 games if things don't improve for them. Murray was almost like a warning shot. Big surprise---they won last night.

The rosters do expand after April 3rd. You never know if they're done or not. They could be and probably are, but nobody has to know that.

Bigger surprise - they scored five goals with the likes of Thornton, Marleau, Pavelski, Havlat, Handzus, Couture, Boyle ... while no Malkin or Sid types, they have a wealth of talent and have underachieved a good portion of the year - save the first six games.

I will buy that. Every GM knows what the other organizations have in the lines of prospects and know their collective worth just as much as the owning GM. While Pittsburgh's farm system is not balanced at all - no goalie prospect; only one forward and he is up and the rest blueliners, Boston doesn't have the talent pool Pittsburgh has. It comes down to Spooner, Subban, the Russian kid and maybe Knight. Force Boston to make a choice, a choice that could gut their farm system even more. Give up two of those and your first, you are sitting close to the Flyers' farm system that is bare sans Laughton and Cousins.

Such an underachieving team. They've been a 100 point team every year since the last lock out, and have only made one conference final I think. They need overhauled.

Two conference finals, 1-8 record.
