They can be overhill. They are signed short term. It's not like the Rangers, Flyers or Canucks and signing a 30+ player to a 9-12 year deal. |

Exactly.
Moreover, a guy like Murray is coming in to solidify the bottom pair and play 15 minutes a night. |

I don't think anyone wants to pay him 5 million for 2013-14? I wouldn't.

Pretty much every team, and most every playoff team can afford that contract, especially if they send a contract back the other way. The oilers can afford litterally any bad contract a team wanted to throw back their way. Don't be obtuse. |

Don't get me wrong, I'd bet everyone is tired of hearing about him - especially from Cloutier - but to say that no one would want him is foolish. |

1973....I turned 40 a few weeks ago so I stopped declining and instead plunged headlong into the abyss. |

Apparently the stars don't need Morrow. They are tied with a solid Minny team at 4 a piece |

I've always thought it was funny that Semin is made the joke of this clip when it's Staal who is turtling against a guy who is essentially slap fighting. |

The big question ... will Carolina regret extending Semin within a year. He has looked great this year, but as you know, he disappears often. |

Unless the other Morrow turns out to be Bobby Orr reincarnated in Dallas, it's difficult to say anything other than that Morrow/Murray are solid pickups.
What do you guys think the Caps can command for Ribeiro ? Assuming they keep winning, they are going to have a bit of a dilemma as to whether or not to move him. |

5 years/$7 mil per is insane IMO (especially with the cap going down), but I don't know Carolina's salary structure well enough to say if it is a disastrous signing for them. I thought a realistic salary for him would have been $4.5-$5 mil per for 5 years, but maybe I am undervaluing him. |

I think the Caps get into the play-offs. They are playing good solid hockey; are getting healthy at the right time. With injury problems to Carolina and the inconsistency of Winnipeg, the Caps could make a serious move in this next week. Alot of winnable games on tap.

That is the big question. Major talent and skill. If he showed up every night, he would be an all-star every year IMO. As you know, he is moody and disappears. He seems to have found a home for this year. The question is can he sustain it? 7 million is awfully steep for a guy with his history.

A poor mans Kovalev (not exactly the same skills but can score).
Which 4th line would you like to add to this team, Oneonta? |

The Sharks are nothing more than a collection of underachievers this year. Marleau has been average after shooting his load in the first five games. Thornton can't score; neither can Clowe ... Pavelski has been a disappointment; Havlat and Handzus have been garbage. Their defense and goaltending hasn't been the problem. Hell, they might not have the two superstars like Malkin and Crosby, but they shouldn't have trouble scoring.

All my ideas have either been resigned or the team is coming back from the dead and are fighting for a play-off spot. I'm not sure Crombeen from Tampa would be a fourth line guy. I like him. Not a fan of Nystrom.
If Kovy gave a poop on 95% of his games, he would have been one of the greatest players to every suit up. His skill was off the chart. |

What about Jim Slater? A former US national team player and a 4th line C. He can take draws well.
Important: he's 30 already and makes $1.8M I think...not sure. |

Morrow gets taken out of the lineup and they get beat up 7-4. Hmm, maybe Morrow could of provided a calming presence? |
