CSNNE.com reports that the Flames would love to acquire goalie Malcolm Subban, the Bruins’ 2012 first-round pick, to eventually supplant 36-year-old Miikka Kiprusoff. But other teams engaging in talks with Boston have been informed that both Subban and centre Ryan Spooner are off limits.
If the Bruins fail to acquire Iginla, the team might consider trying to lure veteran Jaromir Jagr, 41, from the Dallas Stars or Martin St. Louis, 37, from the Tampa Bay Lightning, Haggerty says. |

I'd take Jagr over Iginla ('cause I'm assuming it would costa lot less). |

I'll wait for proof of that right after you show me Kadri knocking Chara down. - jbold
just jumping in - ya, the last time Kadri ran him they both went down. right at blue line in front of Bruins bench. And Chara went down backwards, not forwards cause he buried Kadri.
The one in Leafs zone Chara did not go down. |

If the only thing stopping the Bruins from getting Iginla is trading Subban, they're making a big mistake. They already have Rask for the long term solution in net. Subban is purely a trading chip for them and he's easily replaced. He's at least three years away from being a starter. They could easily replace him the same way they found him, late in the 1st round.
Same goes for Spooner. The Bruins are very strong up the middle and they will be for years. Spooner is just a trading chip. The Bruins are probably making these guys look untouchable so they don't have to give up more in a trade. |

Chara is a beast. I will always remember him throwing Bryan McCabe around like a rag doll.
No shame in not being able to knock him over. |

What would it take to get Jagr and his big ass in a Leafs sweater for the rest of the year? - brooaar
Back when the Washington Capitals were dying to unload Jagr and took Anson Carter from the New York Rangers for him, it would have been a perfect time to get a big, strong, cycling right winger to play with Mats Sundin. Unfortunately, that was 10 years ago and Jagr has no place on this team anymore. |

I agree on Subban, but I think Spooner's going to end up being another one of their second round steals. |

My point is, by saying they are both "untouchable", they draw the line in the sand and eventually only have to give up one instead of both even though they are both, in reality, solid trading chips. |

Jagr, leading the Stars in points, short season. If you have a chance to grab him without emptying the cupboards, at least entertain the idea. Especially if it keeps him off the Bruins.
Leafs are probably not very high on his go to list. |

Why? He's just warming up right now, shortened season has been kind to him this year, 8 goals and 11 points in his past 11 gp. He's also a very big body, you wouldn't want to see him on a line with Grabo and Frattin?
Of course, if he costs more than what Brendan Morrow went for, Dallas could go to hell! Actually surprised it was Morrow and not Jagr who went to Pittsburgh. |

If Brendan Morrow, and his 11 points, went for what it went for, what do you think the market will drive up the price for Jagr on deadline day?
Not worth it. He'll be a UFA and by the looks of it, he still wants to make money. |

Ah, gotcha. I think the Bruins will end up landing Iginla, I mean sure Kaberle didn't work out as planned......but they did win the cup. And besides Pittsburgh, they're still the beast in the east.
Though, since Brooks Laich returned in Washington, they're looking more like the Capitals of old. Ovechkin included. |

Making a move just to screw the Bruins is dumb.

I guess anyone who disagrees with someone or who has different opinion than the mass becomes UG 2.0.

You never know with Joe. Half his deals look Milburyish, half look Tallonish. But seriously, I doubt Toronto acquires anything prior to the deadline. I expect a few more of those Lombardi/Brown type trades from Nonis, nothing to add to this team, moreso to move out the excess. |

Either the Bruins or the Blackhawks but the Bruins are in the East so if the price is the same, odds are he goes to the Bruins. Probably starts with a 1st and one of Subban or Spooner for the Bruins and a 1st and Saad or Shaw for the Blackhawks. Which ever one doesn't get Iginla, might get Jagr, depends where the Stars are because right now they're only 1 point out.
Iginla would have been perfect in Pittsburgh with Crosby. Terrifying combination. Probably won't happen because the Penguins didn't have what the Flames are looking for so they settled for Morrow. Jagr could go back to Pittsburgh too.
Dangerous. |

I think I called you UG 2.0, until you and UG actually were on at the same time and got into it......then I realized, there's 4 or 5 of you that all hate each other and pay no creedence to the saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend....it's a free for all when you're all here and highly entertaining. |
