Luongo, Edler, Corrado and Vancouver's 1st round pick and an apology from the Canuck fan base for all the retarded trade suggestions

Komisarek, Gunnarson, Liles, Connelly and Leafs 4th round pick and a case of red hair coloring

I hadn't thought of that..

I hope Gillis isn't fired as well.. however, it will be because I want to hear the explanations of stuff like i) we don't have a CAP problem ii) we don't have a goal tending controversy iii) why Garrison is worth 4.5+M, and why he decided to tie up half the team cap in 5 defensemen when he hadn't yet signed Edler...

that's going to be priceless.

and Corrado.

Agreed, Burke was/is good at trading, but not much else. Gillis is not good at anything but signing guys to reasonable contracts and running his mouth.

Who, Kadri? Gillis's draft picks need more time to develop but I'm not holding my breath on them.
- LeftCoaster

Kadri, and Rielly looks like the real deal.

He also drafted Gardiner while with Anaheim.

Percy looks like a good defender, too... nothing flashy, but a good top-4 dman. Wouldn't be a bad pick-up for a late first.

Im really looking forward to the summer, when the cap goes down.
I believe they have about 16 players signed with a cap of 63 million or something crazy like that.

- Fakepartofme

14 players, but you can get rid of $13+ million by saying good bye to Booth Ballard and Lu.

Blacker could turn into a 3-4 steady dman as well.

yes I'm sure that is what Gillis would like to do... but... and its a little but.. he his going to have to ask the ownership for permission to buy out about 60 million in contracts.....

- BorjeFan4Ever

Sedins, Kesler, Burrows at two million, Bieksa, Hamhuis, Edler could have got more on the open market. All decent contracts.

On the flip side he royally screwed up with Luongo's contract, taking on Booth's contract and taking on Ballard's contract.

Agreed- but he's not as well known, so I didn't bring him up. He's one of those guys who can turn out well, but you see 20 of them in any team's prospect pool.

Percy is putting up good numbers while being a very good defensive player- looks like a guy who'll have an NHL career.

Then again, I felt the same way about Blacker a few years ago, I'm just unsure now, with the way his development has gone.

No player should ever get that length of contract.

I remember when everyone was ranting about how Gillis stole Booth from Florida.

Yeah, what an idiot/rookie mistake that was. How stupid can you be not thinking another good goaltender would come through the system at some point in the next 10 years.
