Me neither. There was a time when Backsy was outgunning Ovi.
I would think the price for him would be immense. Plus WSH seems to have found their way back into the race so that won't happen until the off-season - AngryWhiteMale
Hell yes!! There is a guy that would be amazing as our top center...
Even through in Gardiner...LOL
Just can't see Washington giving him up without us being decimated.

I don't know...maybe you have never heard of Rielly, Pecy, Finn, Blacker...
All very good (one spectacular) puck moving defencemen in the Toronto Maple Leafs system. Maybe you think we are on the verge of winning a cup so it's more important that we keep Gardiner rather then filling the biggest glaring hole that we need filled.... - Cooshie
I'd love to see something like Gardiner + 1st + Finn for RNH. |

simple solution....move Grabo with Kessel and JVR. Grabo seemed to have no problem feeding Kulimen 30 goals. Move Bozak out for picks. Let Kadri, Lupul and Kulimen loose on line 2. Make Jay McClement your third line shutdown centre. Call up Colborne to finish the season when Bozak leaves.......
Bozak does Richard against Boston, and yeah, I'm jumping the gun here, but games against Boston are what the playoffs are going to look like. Grabo and Kadri show up for Boston....therefore, Bozak you are the weakest link. |

I hope Nonis is a seller...we dont need to add a 32+ stop gap player this deadline... there is no way the leafs are competing with Boston or Pittsburg for the Cup this year. Nonis should be looking to unload contracts like liles, Grabovski, Komi, Conolol etc..any way he can. No need to trade Colborne, Ashton, percy, Biggs, Finn or whoever for older players. The leafs are a fringe playoff team at the moment, keep building from within. - senstroll
Connolly and Komi both cleared waivers, so I'm really not sure how you can trade them for much.
If the price tag is $0, and you have no takers... |

again just keep throwing points up as an argument... its how he plays, at what point in the game those points come from etc. - DarcyTucker16

I'm glad you aren't Nonis. Gardiner, another first, and a decent prospect for a good vision player who has proven he doesn't have the body for the NHL?
Injured his shoulder by falling into the boards, at half speed, without contact with another player. Was out for a while. |

The only argument I have here is that it was MAc assist total that was decimated by Kulemins lack of production more than anyone else. I don't think the club believes Bozak has hit his ceiling yet. |

Great, this debate from the summer.
So how likely is it that Grabs produces significantly more points than Bozak?
And what about Bozak's ability to win more faceoffs? How many points on that Kessel line can be attributed to a faceoff that Bozak won, in which Grabs would hypothetically lose? |

I like the idea of swapping out Colborne for Bozak.
But here's my question: what do you realisticially think the Leafs could get for Bozak?
Sadly, I can't form an unbiased opinion. |

I'd say it's very likely he produces much more than Bozak, I'd even argue that JVR and Kessel would have a bump in production. |

Perhaps you've missed Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, but sharks don't have compassion.
To quote the world's greatest Sharkologist Matt Hoooper:
"...what we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks, and that's all." - Atomic Wedgie
I always kinda wondered, how do sharks die? Do they have a heart attack or a stroke like old people? |

Counter point.....Bozak isn't coming back for cheap. And I'd counter with when does Bozak actually look like a decent hockey player? Answer: when he's not spending 90% of his time forcefeeding crappy passes to Kessel. At least with Grabo I can expect to see finish on Kessel's great passes, and high speed movement in the opposition zone. Both Grabo and Kessel get the puck on net, where JVR can sit and be the big body to close poop out. |
