i dont agree but whatever.
i remember it clearly
teams would just skate to the redline and dump it in.. most overtimes went without a single shot being taken - Dozzer
agree or not. the scenario is the same - if teams turttle up late in the 3rd when the game is tied they get a point. samething under the old rules with OT / ties. Turtle up and get a point. The current OT+shootout hasn't changed that tactic - it just changes what time of the game it happens. Actually it introduces a new turtle tactic for teams that are good at the shootout - they can now turtle up in OT as well in order to force a skills contest win. |

Bingo.
Have a 5 min of 4 on 4 and than 5 mins of 3 x 3.
Someone is bound to score...if not both teams lose a point.

I actually would be ok with this idea...and by extension if the shootout were to stay for good, give one point for a shootout win, zero for a shootout loss. |

totally, the overtimes were brutal on most occasions. I also agree that now the last 5 minutes of tied game does tend to slow down and tighten up, with less push from both sides. But it is what it is, and it's not going to change anytime soon.
I have always hated how the top seed from a crappy division gets the automatic #3 spot in the conference standing. Is this changing next year with the re-alignment? I forget. |

Anyone else think Blacker gets his NHL debut tonight against Florida? Problem is, Kostka had a pretty decent game last night. - p_zub
I dont think so....Id keep Kostka in, he played well.
I do think its time RC quit sitting our good players....JVR and Franson should have been out more. |

What was wrong with last nights game?
It was back and fort, well for some part - it wasn't certainly boring like 99% of sens games....oh wait maybe its just Denis Potvin and his annoying monotone homerisms that make it boring????? ![:yuck:](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/yuck.gif) - Garnie
Dozzer was talking about old school overtime hockey being boring and bad cause everyone plays so boring. |

Yeah, now's not the time to start shortening the benches to prove points. Other players get overplayed, and we start running around the ice aimless and tired. |

They need to play OT until someone wins...I don't care if it ends up goalie vs. goalie... |

you could lose every game of the season and still get 50% of the points that are available....that's (frank)ed. That's like passing a test for just writing your name on the test. |

Kotska still operates at AHL speed. Its so evident. He takes too long to make his next move. |

Reading the reactions on here, you’d swear that it was the Leafs that were one of the best teams in the league, and they only managed two points, while Boston managed three, in a home and home. Not the other way around.
I don’t know about you guys, but going into a critical part of the season with this home and home, if you’d told me a week ago the Leafs would manage three points against Boston, I would have been absolutely thrilled.

Goalies start in the net and they race to get the puck at center ice - would make for some beauty collisions |

I disagree, In the defensive zone, I think his patience gets the D zone coverage out of trouble more often than the instant panic others have as they throw the puck blindly up the boards with their fingers crossed.
In the offensive zone, I can see your point, he tends to hold and look for the perfect pass, and then lanes close up before he can make a good play. |

Its not the Leafs 3 pts that is the problem. That was earned. It was Boston getting 2 pts. that pisses me off |
