I'd rather finish 8th and take the Pens than 7th and get Boston.

Do we have a decent shot at beating either? No, but at least the Penguins series gives us some exciting hockey. And we actually play the Pens surprisingly well.

People talk about the pick the Leafs gave up, being Dougie Hamilton. But if the Leafs had taken that pick, they'd have picked some other stiff that wouldn't have done anything.

As long as we get in. We'd take 7th! We hate the Smurfs and would love to eliminate them. It's been too long, not playing them in the playoffs.

I honestly don't know of the Leafs will ever be able to develop a defenseman properly to his full potential. The market is just too rabid.

Forwards will always have fans. Goalies are a crap shoot; you just roll the dice and hope you get a winner.

But defense is such a tricky position to master, even for the most patient of teams. Top drafted d-men have a lower chance of panning out than any position it seems.
