3 out of 4... blah, blah, blah! Don't sell yourselves short. We blew a 2 goal lead. Yes, I`ll take the point but we should have had two.
Nuff said.

I'm happy for the 3/4 but yes we should not be blowing leads like this constantly. Some things never change |

Again, another O'fer from Kessel in another big game. Two in a row, against Boston. - PrinceLH
I really couldn't care less at this point. The media likes to make a big spectacle of it, but at this point, he's learning to do other things to help his team compete against the Bruins.
He can take the defensive coverage and let his teammates run wild. |

Exactly, no reason we didn`t take the win! or mean... excuses! |

Agreed.
You're up 4-0, 3-0 and 2-0 and you blow all these leads and lose in a shootout?
Absolutely 100% unacceptable. Leafs need to get their poop together and stop sitting on leads. - twiztedmike
Sorry against the Stanley Cup champs from two years ago and one of the biggest cup contenders.. I think the Leafs did extremely well...
What more do you want?

he is heartless.. there's no doubt about it.
question is whether heart matters when it comes to talent, when looking at long term extensions. - joel878
Looking at entertainment, he's great. Looking at winning, he's useless. JVR needs a sitdown, tomorrow night, in favour of Frattin. |

Lost to the better team essentially and it's not mediocre thinking when you look glass half full. This team is improving with each game. They didnt get blown out 8-0 but a loss is a loss, I agree there but they got a point and they move on to the next. |

Dude they played against Boston were out shot.. handled the D for most of the game.. 3 out of 4 points... let me ask you did you think they would win both of these games? - DoctorNHL
So you're saying they need to play a full 60 minutes right? |

It's one more game off of the schedule and one more point that those behind us, must get, to catch us. |

3 out of 4 here makes up for the 3 points we lost on the last 3 shoots outs, I don't mind that. We keep trying to play in a defensive shell after 1 or 2 goal leads. You cant do that, you can be defensively responsible but you still have to try to put the puck in the net with urgency. Turnovers weren't so bad this game though. |

no man, on the road in boston, we should have been blown out.
blowing a 2 goal lead against one of the cup favorites, and still making it out with a point, on the road.. isn't a bad thing.
no one is expecting this team to win championships. seeing them compete against the best teams is positive. - joel878
Don't mind me... I'm half drunk.
Actually I'm quite happy.
Just pissed that Reimer blows in SOs and I am just plain greedy and want every point I can get.

I think this just amplifies the fact that the Leafs aren't contenders, not even close really. Bubble team that could just as easily finish anywhere between 6th and 12th.
Having said that, so can half the conference (or league for that matter): if Philly or NYR can poop the bed, so can anyone.
Parity baby. |

i have a feeling our best offensive players are nothing more than strong complimentary players. they're never going to be feature players on a championship team.
only one with some game changing potential would be kadri, and we're looking at a really small window to make that assessment.
the leafs lack a sundin, the type of player that you really look for to make a game changing play under pressure in big situations. |

True as well, I didn't like seeing McClement out there 4 on 4. IMO we have a slight advantage 4 on 4 with our speed and need to take advantage of those moments. |

If the Leafs go into the playoffs with mutt and jeff in net they aren't serious about winning. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Dude Reimer is the only reason we were in the game... Goalies are only as good as their defenders... and support.. Reimer & Scrivens will become really competent when they have better players in front of them.. Franson got blown away for the first.. Pheneuf deflected the second one over Reimer... The goalies are good.. the team still needs strengthening...

that.. i understand.
i still don't get how we managed to get any points against boston.. let alone 3.
but i agree, the same problems are evident.
i think it comes from the lack of any true top end talent. leafs seem to be performing at their peak based on what they have. |
