Why are people blaming Phaneuf for Reimer letting in a soft unscreened backhander? - toskala4vezina
...you're blaming the only reason the Leafs have 2 points against Boston and inline to maybe get another point or two. You could have put a boot in Phaneufs spot and it would have been more effective on that play. Bergeron isn't exactly a slouch player. |

Both you and joel can pay attention to this.
Lucic....coming down the right side of the net, reimer coming out cutting down the angle, taking away a shot from lucic...so he cuts across reimer...Reimer plays him correctly, forcing him left, giving lucic nothing to shoot at....except he lifts his stick....giving him the goal.
Kulemin speeding down the middle, Rask backing into his net too early, kule cuts to the left last second and goes top shelf.....same move he does all the time.
Two completely different plays.
Got it?
Now shhh!. - Fakepartofme
you don't get it.
i'm not saying you're wrong. i'm saying that coming out of the woodwork to whine about reimer does nothing, when if he hadn't stood on his head for the last period and a half, this would probably be a 6-2 game.
you only come out to whine about reimer, and it's pointless.
he's a young goaltender, his game isn't perfect, and it won't ever be.
i can come onto this site and endlessly whine, spend hours picking apart the best goaltenders in this league by way of similar plays. it does NOTHING. the goaltender has given his team a very fair chance to win the game, and that's what counts. |

Did you see the replay. All he has to do is hold position on Bergeron and he doesn't even get the puck. - Domidives
And all Reimer has to do is stop a weak backhander from a bad angle... one is much easier than the other. |

Good physical play by Kulemin to keep that in. He looks so much more confident lately. |

If they could get at least one point...that would be great. |

And yes, Reimer could have helped matters by saving that. Should have had it.

So because he has played well to this point that means that the goal can't be his fault? Completely and utterly irrelevant. |

SFTU! He had lost the battle before it began. He didn't make it easy for him to come and just walk in. - TML4Life85
I don't even know what that means. The Bruin made Gardiner his personal little d-man biatch. |

If they get a point I'd be very happy. Walking away from this back to back with 3 of 4 points would be far more than I hoped for |

Exaclty. That was all Pha9. He should have taken his man. Gardiner was already beat to the puck and was minimizing the damage so Hamilton could only pass. (frank)ing Phaneuf decided to stand still and block Reimer. What a useless tool! - TML4Life85
people on these boards need a scapegoat, or it's not fun for them.
i get that, the part i don't get is why they have to pick one of the most talented youngsters in this entire franchise to make said scapegoat. gardiner did his best to stay with a much bigger stronger player on the play, and the 6.5 million dollar guy is standing in front of the net doing his best 6' pylon impression in front of the goaltender.

that's a poor argument. the goaltender doesn't have to make any form of save if his defenseman is doing his job properly. |
