what do you mean he deserves a Cup? Should he not have to work for a Cup? it reminds me of Brett Favre allowing Strahan to sack him for the record.
- the_cause2000

You've got to be kidding me, right???
Iginla is a HOF'er, maybe even 1st ballot. His best career centermen, the most important thing for ANY 1st line winger was CRAIG CONROY. Look at the numbers he has put up over his career!
No offense to Calgary fans, dont worry im not dissing, i have no right being a Flyer fan right now, but the Flames havent been a very successful franchise. He's been playing his ENTIRE career with a mediocre team, and over 15 full seasons, 16 after this one is done, he has produced 1,095P in 1218 GP. Thats an avg of .90 PPG over his career, having his best centerman being CRAIG FREAKING CONROY.
Could you imagine what his stats would be if he had a true #1 for most of his career like so many great top wingers have? He's be ATLEAST a PPG in his career.

Even moreso, the guy has played a PWF style for 15 CONSECUTIVE years, and hasnt stopped, and his point totals havent drastically fell off like soooo many PWF's did. Other than his sophomore season (which many great young players go through mind you), his worst season PPG avg wise was 50P in 82GP, and that was his rookie season!!! Not including that, well his next worst PPG avg was 51P in 82GP in his 3rd year= .62 PPG.

May I add, in the 54 Playoff games he's been in, he's produced 28G and 21A for 49P in 54GP. Do you know how hard it is to avg a PPG in the playoffs??? Only a select few elite players can do that!

Oh, not to mention the 6 trophies he's brought in his 15 year career. ON A poopTY TEAM (again, sorry Flames fans )
Art Ross, Rocket Richard, Lester B Pearson all in 2001/02, then a King Clancy, another Rocket Richard, and a Mark Messier Leadership award. Oh, and not to mention AN OLYMPIC GOLD, on which he assisted on the GWG! How many players can say they assisted on an Olympic Gold medal game winning goal in OT???

So why does Jarome Iginla deserve a cup more than anyone? Oh, I dont know... BECAUSE HE'S THE (frank)ING MAN!?!?

He has been loyal to this Flames organization for so long, and he never once said he wanted to leave. And YOU'RE giving this guy SH!T for wantinmg out of a badly run organization to win a cup!? WOW.

Go home troll, you just got owned

Guess it all depends on whats going to SJS in return

EDIT: just for speculation, Murray has a cap hit of 2.5, pending UFA, depending on what goes back the other way, they COULD still have enough space to take on Iginla, that is if calgary takes on roster player or even eats some of Iginla's cap.

At this rate, Pens will have (zero) selections at the 2013 Draft....

The second 2nd-round pick is conditional upon Murray re-signing. Add-in that we still have our first round pick and added the Dallas 3rd (not a terrible price for Murray).

What's Iggy worth at a 3.5 cap vs a 7 cap? Does that up the value of the prospect? Morrow got Morrow, what would a 3.5 Iggy get?
