therefore a 2014 1st and Bernier who has only played 50 some games

is somewhat weak as it might pan out to squat

i wouldnt begin to try to tell you what the kings will or wont give up to acquire iggy but IMO i don't think toffoli(who at 20 has 3pts(2g) and is a +3 in 4 gms) should be on the table.

i also dont see voynov, muzzin or bernier being involved either. as flames fans i understand why you would want these players but as a kings fan i think we'd be crazy to trade them. as 23 year olds muzzin and voynov are two of the better young dman in the nhl already and IMO you dont trade those unless you get players that will be on your team for years(8-10) to come. for example voynov is the 7th highest scoring dman in the entire nhl and out of those 7 only letang has a better +/-. put another way...could you see the coyotes trading ekman-larsson for iginla? because voynov's numbers are slightly better in both catagories(though admittedly EL is 2 yrs younger).

i could see any number of pieces like a 2013 2nd, a conditional(upon resign) 2014 1st, vey, forbort, nolan, martinez and pretty much any prospect other than muzzin, toffoli, voynov, bernier and maybe even tanner pearson.

bottomline...knowing the kings prospects like i think i do if i was a flames fan i think id want something along the lines of 2010 15th overall pick derek forbort(d), linden vey(21yr old C/RW with just under a ppg in ahl) and a 2nd. im sure you guys would want more but to me that would be a pretty good starting point in getting a realistic return for iggy at 35.

If Iggy had one more year left on his contract, I think you would have seen the Pens give up a pretty decent package for him. I think thats the biggest issue with him right now. Why give up a 1rst, a blue chip prospect and another NHL ready player for a guy that will probably go back to the Flames after the season is over. I understand why Calgary fans want as much as possible, I dont blame them one bit. I just dont think you will see the type of deal for Iggy that most people think. If that is the case, I still think the Pens will be a player for him.

If that is the case than Hamilton BETTER be involved!!! If we get anything other than Hamilton and a 1st then we are waaaaayyy over paying. Even for Hamilton and a 1st is over payment IMO. Not that I would care too much because I believe that Hamilton would be a key cornerstone piece for this franchise. I think, though we would have to have Spooner or Subban added to that package.

Also reading that PHI and ANA are talking about a Couts for Ryan swap. Aren't PHI stocked with wingers? Could we not create a better package with Jbo, a part that PHI actually needs for Couts.

Kassian was used because he'd be cheaper. And I think he's currently a product of av not knowing how to use prospects.
