I don't think we will see many weak teams making the top 3 in each division in the future. The weak divisions are the ones that have been split up. - Oilhab

2 second round picks.
Wow. - Pecafan Fan
Ok, so one of those 2nd round picks is conditional upon Murray re-signing. |

Murray for a second is very reasonable. |

but we all know thats not Murray's game he's a sound bruising D, but yes nevertheless 2 2nd rounders....yikes - Habitants98
Murray is a solid guy, he sticks up for teammates too. Pens are building but chemistry is still a question.
In the past big rentals haven't paid out. I would stay away from blowing the future for Iginla
Hossa for example. An addition like Murray and Morrow is adding depth and support. I like these moves. |

I don'think you can judge a players future worth on what he does this season alone.
And the only other good season he has had was last year.
Near 50 assists which is good, but do we have the Scoring center or Left winger to play with him?
Most of our forwards are passers, adding another one doesn't help much in the long haul. - Oilhab
He is 26, playing is 5th season, and entering his prime. And Eller hasn't ever put great offensive numbers neither. All i was saying is if MB goes for a big name it won't be a rental and Wheeler would give the Habs a true 1st line (Pac-DD). |

Very true. That was a bad example. See Toronto and their acquisitions of Leetch, Nolan, etc. |

For Armstrong and 2 bust.
They also got Dupuis who is actually a part of Pittsburgh success. |

yea, what a trade that was for PITT. Give up nothing and get the best rental available and a top 6 winger |

The Habs did not get him because Gainey did not want to give up on Higgins.
Imagine what he would have given for Gomez is Higgins wasn't there anymore? |

Yep, still a team like Pittsburgh have the luxury of trading for rental players year after year and their future isn't mortgaged. |

i dont see the hype on Wheeler....its on and off and at this stage for the Habs we need ppl who are gonna grow with this team (or are unrestricted at the end of the year) not worth what it would take
Jagr does fit the other bill though |
