They will certainly not interfere with the opposition who will be too far away to take a minor penalty on.

Honestly, if we can get a first round pick for Coburn, and that pick is so important. Why stop there? Imagine what they can get for a bunch of other players?

The next few games will determine that. If they manage to go 3-1 heading up to the TDL, they won't do anything to hurt chances.

I just don't believe they are a playoff team. I would be sellers but if they decide to wait until the summer to make moves that's cool. I would like to add some picks though.

I don't think they're a playoff team, either. But if they go 3-1 or 4-0 over the next 4 games, they're probably going to hesitate to deal off Fedotenko or Gagne. But if they wait for summer, neither of them will have any value in a trade.

Not happening...Briere won't be healthy enough. I hope it does but I'm not confident.

I don't think they are (edit: a playoffs team) either, but you better believe if they stay in striking distance that they'll act as if they are. At least to the degree of not being sellers.

I just can't wrap my head around Coburn being so good as to garner a first rounder in trade, but still so bad for this lineup.

Oh, I'm sure someone will be willing to trade a pick for their rights.

The GM has to make that decision to either stay with what he has or trade players for picks. I've seen enough of this team to say sell some players but I'm not an NHL GM.

I'm going to go conservative here (a stretch, I know) and say he'll be NHL-ready in four. So, sometime in 2016-17.
- Flyskippy

That wouldn't be a bad guess.

Dreger on TSN radio: Briere to Montreal for a draft pick could happen if Briere is healthy & willing to waive his NTC. #Flyers #Canadiens

The funny thing is, all the time that was spent criticizing Holmgren for leaving the defense short this Season. Now it's trade Coburn for a draft pick. And replace him with Free Agents. Well, sometimes Free Agents say no. And if that happened, who will at the front of the line if the defense is short again, to complain?

Kyle Quincey got a 1st rounder. Coburn can get a 1st especially at the deadline with so many teams still in it.

Well, they still have 9 days to make a move. It's not like the deadline is in 3 hours or so.

you rarely pass up a chance to jinx something with a foolish guarantee, thus i found your post surprising. fully expected another "flyers got this".

I would seriously consider moving him for the right price.

Yes, the defense is terrible, but we can trade two members of it for 1st round picks.

Your right they have time but Homer has seen enough to know this team has no real chance at winning it all.

and free agency worked SO well for us last summer, it's almost a lock they'll gamble on it again this summer. what could go wrong?

Call it nitpicking if you will (and it is a bit of a frviolous distinction), but I don't think he's seen enough to know that. Not yet, not with this team and this owner.

Now, if they drop games against the Rags and Bruins badly? The tune may change.

Yes, but just because he hasn't made a trade doesn't mean he's not going to make one or two later

So would I. But a first round pick is not the right price, in my opinion.
