i'm fine with moving him, and he'll likely be another ex-flyer who wins a cup.
- hammarby31

i could care less if a take takes him and wins the cup we need to focus on our future and briere cannot be in it since in the near term we're not winning the cup

Wow, Kypreos says the price on Murray is 2 2nd rounders or a 2nd & 3rd.
- Jsaquella

I watch Murray all the time he's a hell of a defenseman

They are in desperate need of points. Giving up on a season for purposes of a "better" draft pick rather than fighting for the postseason as long as possible is a disgraceful mentality. Even if you don't have a playoff team, you want to see as much compete level as possible.

Murray's like a broken down pick up truck. He's not a great addition at all
- Jsaquella

We'll see how he plays on one of the best teams in the league. It's amazing how a change and a legit chance at the cup can do wonders for a player's performance.

We already have him in Grossmann, even though Grossmann is probably better right now.

He's tough, but most seem to feel that he's breaking down and lost a step. For a guy that didn't have a lot of steps to begin with, seems like a lot to pay.

I disagree. Murray is a fine #4-5 guy. He's really Grossmann, except Grossmann is a little bit better. Exact same dman.
Its a great addition to a team going for it all.

Great trade for the Pens.

In 2009.

(same goes for Morrow)

Good. I hope the Pens keep giving up their picks and prospects to Western teams. It's not like we're in serious contention this year.

I imagine this puts a lot of pressure on Boston to pull the trigger on Iginla...or maybe Briere if there's actual interest there.

Except he's not. Grossmann is younger, blocks more shots and is more mobile.

Douglas Murray, from most accounts, has suffered a big drop in play.

If SJ can get an astute GM in Ray Shero to overpay for a declining D-man, I can't wait to see what Holmgren gets for a proven playoff performer in Briere.

I'm all pumped up.

So Murray gets 2 2nd rounders....Who is left that doesnt feel Coburn will get this years 1st from a bubble team at a minimal?

I thought that, but I'd at least throw it out there before the most logical deal.
