I don't think LAK have a need for Streit or Lubo. Boyes doesn't really have any value to a playoff team, as his success is largely a byproduct of playing with Johnny. Nabby is useless to any of those 3 teams.

My (realistic) dream would be Okposo for Muzzin.

That would be nice, but the young kid will probably stay with KINGS

Most likely. My head would explode if it was some sort of deal for Bernier, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bernier would be great but I'm not sure what the Isles have that the Kings want?

Idk either....don't really know their line-up

Kopitar-Williams-Brown
Richards-Carter-Penner
Stoll-Clifford-Richardson
Lewis-Nolan-King

if I had to guess...
Penner is a goner and useless, and their 3rd line isn't giving any production, so maybe they are looking for more scoring, plus/or help on the PP from D

Isles can help with PP from D with Streit and Vish. I'm not sure if they want KO, Bailey, or Frans? I wish the deadline was this week.

with the Pens starting the trading, I could see more teams start this week instead of next...

We finally have good assets, Snow better not screw this up....

I wouldn't get your hopes up for much. It's already public knowledge they're trying to re-sign Boyes, Streit, and Visnovsky. Not to mention we're only 2 pts out of a playoff spot.

edit: And right after I type that...http://www.newsday.com/sp...erfeed&utm_medium=twitter

They wont, and if they do, they will continue to lose the fans, plus if they are at the coliseum no on will show up if this team is the same

Hopefully not because unless the Isles won a Cup recently they should not stand pat. I found it interesting according to Staple the Isles may buy out DP and bring in another Vet goalie. DP is starting to play well and they are going to buy him out? I doubt it.

I get where you're coming from but if I told you before the season we'd be two points out of the playoffs with 16 games remaining you would, once you were done laughing and telling me I was an idiot, probably not be looking to blow up the team.

True but the East is such a mess that's why the Isles are still in it. If the Isles do not want to blow it up fine they should add to the team then. Standing pat is the last thing they should do.

In a shortened season anything is possible, almost every team in the east still has a shot of making the playoffs except FLA.... Every NHL analyst said teams will have to figure out if their teams are playoff caliber, or decide to sell, bc by the trade deadline, most teams will be close to a playoff spot

Right you either sell or you add not stand pat. Time for Snow and Wang to get off the sidelines and do something.

It's really kind of a tough spot. Nobody is stupid enough to believe that even if we make the playoffs, we're going to do anything special. But at the same time you still want to actually get in. Hard to start flipping picks and prospects to add to a team that you know isn't going to win more than maybe a series, no matter who you add.

But on the flip side, it's going to be hard to explain to your fan base why you started trading a handful of seasoned veterans for picks/prospects when you were only ~2 pts out of the playoffs.

No question it's tough but since the team is still in it there has to be a way for the Isles to add to the team without killing the prospect pool. Isles stood pat last year and cannot do it every season. Isles need to show guys like JT and the fan base especially the ones in Brooklyn it's not going to be wait for next year all the time.

I agree with this completely. For example, last year when they said they didnt trade PA Parenteau because they werent giving up on the season, that pretty much says you are trying to make a run at the playoffs. Being that they're two pts out of a playoff spot now, and from what i've read have no intentions on moving streit, viz, or nabakov, why not add something for this run. Yes they beat the panthers, but we all saw the three games and three third periods prior to that last game. Its clear this team needs help to get to the next level. I feel that this organization owes it to us fans, to put the best product possible on the ice. As of right now, they are not doing that. This team needs a Mike Sillinger, or Mike Peca type guy. The defense needs a top 3 dman who has size and can play minutes.

I'm reposting this only because I think it plays into our stand pat angle:
A little conspiracy theory for your Sunday Afternoon:Some of us feel Charles is being cheap because he's stripping the team down for a sale (don't agree). Others feel he's simply biding time until 2015 to spend due to the annual losses he endures. Consider this, perhaps Charles is purposely low balling this team as a way to stick it to his two landloards, SMG and Nassau County. No matter how this team would have performed during the past two years, he'd still lose money. However the better they did at the gate, the more money SMG and Nasssau would make due to taxes and lease parameters. Not only do both SMG and Nassau County make money off of the admission deal, but of course Nassau then makes an additional share off of taxes. It's quite possible that a bitter Charles Wang has determined that making no attempt to drastically improve this team while slowly building one to peak after 2015 only hurts SMG and Nassau County. In effect, why pay $10 million in extra salaries to make $5 million in additional revenue while SMG and Nassau gain their extra share without spending a dime?I know if I was Charles and had received as many loud and clear messages from Nassau County saying they can live without the Islanders, I'd probably have no interest in lining that county's pockets at the expense of additional losses. I'm pretty sure Charles has some well paid bean counters who have informed him of every situation and I doubt he has much interest in hurting himself further to help those who sank the Isles to begin with.

Garth Snow will never start dumping picks and prospects.......but there are deals out there to be made. After reading this newsday article and seeing the names, Anders Lee, Strome, Kabanov, Nino, Brock Nelson, Reinhardt, Mayfield, Donovan, (a healthy Calvin DeHaan) all of whom have a real shot to make the isles next season. There's only so many roster spots. STOP HOARDING GARTH.......this team needs a few pieces........its phucking obvious.
