I think he would since Sutter is there. He played his best hockey under Sutter, and it is just too bad he decided to be a GM there. And why go back to Calgary to rebuild? I wouldn't begrudge him if he stayed in LA. He could always pull a Vernon and play his last yr in Calgary...which is like 3-4 yrs from now.

And any trade with an extra conditional pick if he re-signs makes them more attractive trading partners.

I was the one that leaked the Ovechkin trade at the start of the season and it was shot down by a "better source." He has been on the market all year. Not shopped but all GM's knew that he was on the table. They also knew the price would get lower as time passed.

I didn't hear the kings were the front runners although they are in the mix. I will try to update later today with my source from Ovechkin's camp to see if a trade is on the table.

I was hearing that NYR wanted him. That one of their top 3 and a dman of value was the main pieces of the trade. I haven't checked but Gaborik and pieces could be moved for him. However I haven't confirmed this. I also hear that Hossa, Hjarmallson and another significant player was an offer from Chicago. With a player coming with Ovechkin back.
