Idiots like this are why we need a Ref in the Oilers threads.
- robin_steele264

Nah, I just need to learn to not respond or "feed it" as you suggested. But clout's needs the hits to keep his ego inflated and think he is a relevant sports writer so I like to help the big guy out from time to time.

The truth?

You wouldnt know the truth if it took its Richard out and slapped you across the face!

Pttsburgh had their forst lotto pick in 2002. they then had 4 more up until 06. 5 years in a row starting in 02. They won the cup 09. 7 years later.

The Oilers had their first lotto pick in 2010. Taylor Hall. So by the same timeing they should win the cup in 2017???

Thats the truth tool.

- Iggysbff

There seems to be no point talking logic here when retardation is the currency of discussion.

It should be a committee of Pilgor, Laughs, Sanford, Lahey, Oilhorse, Fonzy, She-ra, Orko, Daisy duke, and a red guy from the muppets. The ref job is too much power for one person to handle.

Yea, I made my point.

The reaction to such honesty tells me that I really dont need to point out the truth. They know it full well. My job here is done.

- systemtool

Very few Oiler fans expected to make the playoffs this year. The team is still inexperienced, young and full of holes. You have pointed out nothing but the fact that you obviously know very little about hockey and a little bit about trolling/being a douche.

if florida wants to get rid of brian Campbell maybe t he oilers should look into him. now clearly hes over paid but the panthers could eat some of his salary in a trade. if hemsky for Campbell and say 2 mil in cap spacew stays with florida might be a good trade for both. wonder if we could pry gunbranson outa them

lol, what a joke this all is.

EDM beats Columbus and the media and fans thing they'll win the cup.
EDM loses to St. Louis and everyone freaks out.

WHat are we? Habs Fans? get a grip. St Louis is a great team.

Let me be clear.
It doesnt.

No one thought edm had turned a corner after beating cbj. (That wasnt the last time either. They beat us)

How many superstars do you think a club can afford to have? With the 2 monster contrcts Anaheim just signed, they have just shortened the window & they will be dancing the cap for years to come They will probably be forced to trade very good players to comply with the Cap. Maybe I have read too much into Cloutiers chanting about the Oilers amassing all these elite players. But then, there was a lot of MSM hype about the Oilers being contenders this year. If they all become elite at one time, you have a problem. Thing is, a good GM could turn this problem into into a way to extend the length of time you have a contending team. I just dont think you have that. & believe me, I dont think Flames have that either as we go full steam into our rebuild.
- Kevin R

Totally wrong.

The cap goes down next year and then like always it will go back up year after year. By the end of those deals, Getz and Perry will be considered bargains. People forget that all those older contracts had huge salaries in the first few years, and lesser salaries to help with the cap number for the duration.

Malkin will make over 10 million a year for the sole purpose that he can't make as much as Crosby for the duration of his total deal.

Crosby got 104.4 over 12 years, of which 95.4 will be paid in 9 years. That's 3 a season for the last 3 years. If he was only signing an 8 year deal his per season would be more like the 10.6 he is getting for the first 9 years of his deal.

Malkin will get 10 and people will think Pittsburgh is nuts, but nobody is taking the new CBA into account.

Once again, you are comparing apples to bananas as you say Anaheim is hooped because of two big contracts, Case in point, the 6 big contracts you say the oil will not be able to afford, and Minni has done it, plus you are assuming they are all gonna command huge $$$ after their ELC's expire,, they will not be getting any more than the 6mil hall and ebs have so assuming they all become freaking awesome, 6mil x 6 players is 36 mil. That leaves roughly 30mil. That isn't exactly putting them at the ceiling with those 6 contracts.
- ruttager17

30 million based on next years CAP. In 5 years those contracts would look pretty good

yeah some people seem to miss the big picture or even see that several other teams in the league have big dollars locked up in about 5 or 6 players, which is exactly the situation they assume the Oil will be in. If other teams can do it and win/compete, no reason why the oil can't. Not to forget, the Nuge isn't exactly playing himself to a huge contract right now.
Not to mention the flames fan who posted this idea originally, apparently does not realize his team has 38.7mill tied up in 6players and one goalie. Obviously it isn't working for the flames but the money is there.

the way I look at it cloutuiers right in the sence we need to think about next year and I know its a broken record or a headache since we been doing this same stuff for the past 5 years. This has to be a strong off season for us. drafty another top talent, be one of the only sellers at the deadline and move guys who have no business being moved. point blank we all like smid but money talks if im gm his choice is 5 years at 3 mil per or traded. belanger traded for anything. Ales hemsky packaged with the extra second we have for a good prospect ( gunbranson be nice as an example ) prob wont happen . brian Campbell is exactly the player we need but his cap sucks. If we get him for a fair trade and the panthers take some of his cap which they need to do to reach the floor fine. He is only 33 and veteran presence we need. mark streit is another ufa to target

It was just a lash out at Systemtool. Not my opinion of the leafs at all. I actually have no dislike for them whatsoever and no I don't think all people are as dumb as him and no clouts does not have much of a clue. Nail on the head with that statement.
- ruttager17

Trust me I argued with that guy in the Leaf thread a few days ago, he makes up stats if it helps his argument. Can't argue with someone that needs to twist fact and truth to make their point.

What? No way, he can't stay, he is pushing us around with his superior intelligence like the Oilers get pushed around every night on the ice.

I'd blame Cloutier if I was you guys... hasn't blogged about a winning team yet. Maybe a blogger change would help spark the team....

gee... sorry... didn't know you and he were so close. I am more than happy to support cloutier because his blogs are fun and the responses even more fun (and it costs me nothing but time). for example, I have never trolled in my life. I offer good valid opinions and tongue in the cheek observations, such as the one that got sand in your vagina. I know on the pens blog I love when people come in as fans of other teams as it adds a different viewpoint. otherwise these blogs would all be as incestuous as you seem to want them to be.

I feel special you got so butthurt over a lil jab you needed to write out a full paragraph response. Nice that you are arrogant enough to call your own opinions good. You are trolling right now and a natural for your first time.

my understanding of trolling was going onto another blog and saying something deliberately inflammitory just to try to irritate people ... maybe I got that wrong. maybe trolling is saying things that ruttager17 disagrees with or takes offense to.
