not much now that his pace is for less than 20 and is on the decline, what did LA get for Smyth?
- all mighty oil

I'll save you the research, he did it 4 times. Iggy should try harder he only did it 11 times.

At least if you are gonna troll you should have your team up there, but makes sense as a coward to not list it so you can dish it out without receiving it.

I made no insults, simply pointed out your opinion for what it was, if that insults you then perhaps its time to use some objectivity when posting.

yes
however

past consideration is no consideration,

meaning you pay for what you will get not for what has happened in the past

- all mighty oil

So no one would like to have Iggy for a playoff run?

Pittsburgh's first top 5 pick was in 2002 I remember how they turned it around and made the playoffs so soon in 2007 nevermind being gift wrapped Crosby and malkin who are without a doubt better than any players on our team.
- patheticgirl43

2003 you mean, and they took Marc-Andre Fleury over Eric Staal, then Malkin in 04 crosby 05 and staal 06 playoffs 07

so it took them 2 firsts and 2 second overall picks over a 4 year rebuild

Edit: my mistake; i read 1St top pick not top 5, still that was just in the top 5 not really comparable to #1 overall

he is on pace for like 22 this year which is usually what he is on pace for this far into a full season and he has always come through, obviously in this lockout shortened season things are off with a lot of players, as much as we all wanna hate the flames, Iggy is the (frank)ing man and would make any team better, as for his value, that is tough to say, but he won't and should not be given away.

like it or not oil and flamers are in the same boat except age gives us more hope

both teams need dominant centers to become contenders

oil have young excellant prospects on the wing

flamers have experinced pros on the wings

lack of quality centers and faceoff prowess exposes the D and goaltending to unwarranted criticism

very thin pool of rfa and ufa centers

centers do not tend to dominate until 25-26 years old

trades? how much quality youth do oilers have to give up? how much experience and professionalism will flamers lose?

status quo - both teams fight over scraps in the standings

I am an oilers fan, in the oilers thread talking about the Oilers, you come here to stir up poop by insulting the team and suggesting you know how to fix them, as if what you say carries any sort of fact based knowledge to back it up. How exactly am I a troll again???

Whipper ain't no troll, he is the shiznit. I really think you need to look up the definition of the word, or maybe finish Junior High, or go back and get either your grade 10, or possibly your G.E.D.

What i'm saying is Lucic has more value than Hemsky & anyone who disagrees is completely out to lunch.

You can find a dozen, soft players with skill, you can't find big power forwards with skill & Lucic, although having an offyear, can score 25 to 30 & he's proven that.

There's not one GM in this league that would not have Lucic valued higher than Hemsky.

- newmy

Never said Hemsky was valued more than Lucic fool!

It doesn't matter who you cheer for, anyone can come on here & speak their opinion but the fact of the matter is you can't handle the truth about how bad your Oilers are.

I'll ask you again, do you think the Oilers top 6 of today will win a championship??

I guess they could if they stopped getting pushed around night after night - or am I just making that up???

I remember at the start of the season how J. Schultz or Yak were going to win the Calder, not even close.

I remember how the top 6 forwards were going to light the lamp night after night, they were going to be the most exciting two lines in the NHL - don't think that's happened.

And for god's sake, don't reply by saying Oiler fans were NOT saying these exact things prior to the season starting!!!

Seriously, go tobogganing already, your mom is ready to push you down the hill or maybe off the hill.

Minnesota Wild over 37mil tied up in 6 players equaling an average of 6.2mil per player and icing the top team in the Northwest this year under the Cap, and the Oil can't sign 6 players themselves with big contracts because why????

- ruttager17

How many superstars do you think a club can afford to have? With the 2 monster contrcts Anaheim just signed, they have just shortened the window & they will be dancing the cap for years to come They will probably be forced to trade very good players to comply with the Cap. Maybe I have read too much into Cloutiers chanting about the Oilers amassing all these elite players. But then, there was a lot of MSM hype about the Oilers being contenders this year. If they all become elite at one time, you have a problem. Thing is, a good GM could turn this problem into into a way to extend the length of time you have a contending team. I just dont think you have that. & believe me, I dont think Flames have that either as we go full steam into our rebuild.
