"Torts would bash these lazy losers. Thats why we need a guy like him so he can get these kids off their ass and start performing."

Players only listen to coaches like Torts, Sutter, Hitchcock, etc. for so long before they tune them out. That's why those type of coaches never last long. Krueger is NOT the problem, MANAGEMENT is.
I can not fathom why Katz allows this to go on. FIX IT ALREADY!!!

Here's the problem with your theory. By the time that turtle ST gets the pieces together and start to win, many of your ELC's will expire. Now if Yaks & Shultz & Klefblom & Nuge & whatever high pick you get this year become the superstars you say they will be, you suddenly have a big problem. If they perform close to the type of stats Hall & Ebs have, they are going to want close to those kind of $$$$. Thats in addition to some of the acquisitions & UFA's that you are filling in are going to have significant price tags. I know players are good guys, putting lots of time in the community & charities, but dont kid yourself, they want their $$$$. Your window is open & the clock is ticking & Oiler fans have every right to be pissed about Management not making the right decisions to move forward. The league & cap is built to gravitate to parity, the days of power house 80's Oiler teams are a thing of the past. Quit making excuses for this terrible management.

Minnesota Wild over 37mil tied up in 6 players equaling an average of 6.2mil per player and icing the top team in the Northwest this year under the Cap, and the Oil can't sign 6 players themselves with big contracts because why????

Minny hasn't proven anything other than signing a pair of top free agents last summer.

They too, have several holes to fill which is why they are NOT an elite team.

Not what I'm saying....I'm just saying stop making idiotic comparisons that are not even apples to apples. I hope they are contending for the cup in a couple years. Not a guarantee though. Could turn into a San Jose....always good, but not great...
- Iggysbff

There is no reason why they are not playoff contender in 3 years. And with a good GM, you'ld be a top 5 every year

who said anything about elite? It was said they will not be able to sign these guys after their ELC's expire, case in point they have huge dollars tied up in 6 players and are making it work. obviously them being at the top of the division means they are doing something right. Jackass.

Well then I guess they'd better fire Tambi real quick because he's among the worst GM's in the league - not all his fault though, he's just a puppet to the bigger problem with is Lowe.

Until a house cleaning happens starting with Lowe, nothing will change!!

When you can't admit the truth, you turn to being a jackass yourself.

If you think teams are winning the cup with 6 or 7 players taking up the majority of your cap space, you're dreaming. You need more help than that. The Oilers won't win nothing with their top 6 they have today because they continue to get pushed around by the bigger clubs - case in point last night. Or am I wrong again???

The truth was pointing out that teams can have 6 big contracts and fit into the cap, which is going up every year based on increasing revenues. Maybe you are just upset cause your flames tried that with high priced aging vets and it hasn't worked out for them.
You are very wrong making assumptions of the entire future of a team that is new and young based on one game. Why does the help the oil need to add to their young players, have to be expensive high priced talent that will prevent them from fitting under the cap when adding them to the players everyone assumes are going to have these giant contracts??? Are you unable to see past your own subjective, narrow minded obtuse opinions that you seem to think are fact????

But again, you're basically saying the Oilers should be able to get a big, power forward with skill & not give up the untouchable list - it's not going to happen.

Boston doesn't want Hemsky as part of any deal, if they move Lucic(which isn't happening) it's going to take a Klefbom or a Gagner or a 1st round pick this year but stop with trying to unload b-level players to bring in top talent.

Hemsky only plays when he wants to & GM's know that which is why the Oilers couldn't move him last year or why they won't move him for value this year - plus the guy will eventually get hurt again.

- newmy

Hemsky and Lucic are opposite sides to the coin. Hemsky brings more offense and Lucic more crash and bang. .76 ppg for Hemsky and .59 for Lucic.
Even with Hemsky only showing up occasionally as you would like to say, he still brings more offense! Sh*t imagine what he could do on a team that supports him better. The Oiler top 6 are all the same players! No one like Lucic to impose his will. Hall is not there yet but will be.

I am just tossing out names here bud, not actually making the deal??? You seem to think you know alot of what the GM's thoughts are? Must be nice!
Considering Lucic plays a more physical game I would say the odds of injury for him are as good??? But what am I saying, you know this too!

Again, turn to insults - shows you how intelligent you really are. Fine, I hope the Oilers keep their top 6 that gets pushed around night after night, that doesn't win you nothing. You totally avoided answering my question before which tells me you can't handle the truth.

And as mentioned before, we'll see in a few years just how many players they'll fit under the cap!! Oh, by the way, i'm not a Flames' fan, they suck as well.

Have a nice day, by the way, is your mom taking you tobogganing on the hill today??

What i'm saying is Lucic has more value than Hemsky & anyone who disagrees is completely out to lunch.

You can find a dozen, soft players with skill, you can't find big power forwards with skill & Lucic, although having an offyear, can score 25 to 30 & he's proven that.

There's not one GM in this league that would not have Lucic valued higher than Hemsky.

Well that's not true, Lowe & Tambi think so because they gave him a nice 5m/per year deal.

What's a power forward worth that has scored 30+ for a decade?

Its one thing to rebuild, its another to score first over all talents. The Pens and Hawks made the players quickly after getting their first overalls/top 3's and won a cup before the Oilers will have made the playoffs. Did it take the Pens/Hawks 4-5 years to make the players AFTER they got Toews/Kane, Crosby/Malking? Not even close.
- systemtool

Pittsburgh's first top 5 pick was in 2002 I remember how they turned it around and made the playoffs so soon in 2007 nevermind being gift wrapped Crosby and malkin who are without a doubt better than any players on our team.

not much now that his pace is for less than 20 and is on the decline, what did LA get for Smyth?

At least if you are gonna troll you should have your team up there, but makes sense as a coward to not list it so you can dish it out without receiving it.

I made no insults, simply pointed out your opinion for what it was, if that insults you then perhaps its time to use some objectivity when posting.
