every interview I've heard from Ott he seems like he likes it here a lot, I hope we do everything we can to keep him around, he's a great player for this team going forward tough to find players like him.

I don't care if Clowe is a UFA in July... so is Leopold. Swap needs with similar contracts. The only thing is, it won't work for the Sharks if we include Stafford in the deal... they can't take on more salary. They're looking to tweak what they have and keep the salaries as close to even as possible. Leopold and Clowe are both UFAs at season's end... throw in Gerbe for Demers and the combined salaries are close and both teams assume a UFA in the deal, but address a current need. Makes plenty of sense and San Jose (according to Garth) has been scouting the Sabres since Leopold returned from his injury.
