They were rebuilding and putting that team together for most of those years.
Berglund, pietrangelo, shattenkirk, oshie, tarasenko, perron, sullivan,etc are all young.
Even backes and stewart aint old.

I dont think anyone in their right mind woulda called them contenders for more than the last 2 seasons.

Just kinda blows my mind that anyone thinks 1 individual is the problem. The aim was to still be playing meaningful games this time of the year. They have been. Playoffs were never anything more than a pipedream.

The team has been growing together for a while now, and they have definitely under achieved a bit the last few years, but they are a well built team for a long playoff run.

Its amazing what good coaching, some needed additions and subsequently confidence from actually winning can do for a young team.
