Would be nice to play poopty teams like florida, islanders, capitals, sabres and hell even philly this year. Why am I not hearing that the Oilers are going after a top 6 guy that plays with some grit? Wouldn't that be perfect to offset the pile of skill-only guys that they currently have? David Clarkson anyone?

Ok. Fair enough. I only ask because I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in all of the Oiler rumours. I know Clarkson and Clowe are both pending UFAs, and have been mentioned as being potential guys to be moved, so I didn't get why I wasn't hearing any Oiler interest in those guys. Edmonton has plenty to offer in return. They should risk overpaying a bit to get one and sign him!

Edmonton isnt going to give a pile up for a pending UFA. They will probably make a pitch to one or more of those guys in the Summer. A big gritty LW that can score is exactly what they have been wanting.

Depends where you are getting your rumors from, always remember that Clout's has no sources and makes up crap, and Ek is accurate with his made up crap less than 2% of the time. Rumors are just that.....rumors. Agreed they should overpay to get someone to help them now, and into the future. No point stocking the cupboards right now.
