Leopold and Stafford for Clowe perhaps. That would be a great trade for the Sabres.

What about that for Stewart??

Isn't Penner's contract up at the end of this year?

Doesn't make much sense to take on Penner. I'd rather just have a pick for Regehr at this point. Or a prospect. Doesn't seem to make sense to trade a guy who's contract is up at the end of the year for another guy who's contract is up at the end of the year. If LA is trying to trade the salary amounts that's fine, but I want some sort of pick/prospect too then.

lol. Honestly I hope they re-sign him for 2 more years. He is still a beast in the corners and the Sabres need true professionals. I'm all for the youth playing too, but some people act like he is a dime a dozen or something. I love his game even though he has slowed down, not many players want to go into the corners with him.
- Morskdog89

I like his game recently. But up until the last few weeks, he hasn't been the force that he was in Calgary.

yep
he is a free agent on july first

makes no sense unless they feel we are a playoff team

if we are a playoff team, you know darcy will keep 11 d men in case of a staff infection during the post season

I doubt SJ would take on Stafford's salary.

If the Sabres traded Ott, I think I would officially quit on them. I have been a fan since I was like 5, and even then I would read the Buffalo News on game day memorizing their stats. Hockey and the Sabres are my unofficial hobby, and if they seriously traded Ott, I'd consider quitting on them. He has been worth every penny they pay him.

That is one of the worst rumors, no way we trade him. No franking way.

in ways, but Stewart is physical and drops the mits. I used to not like Stewart for the exact same reasons. But I think he has matured and he is only 23 which is crazy to me.

I'd take Clowe over Stewart, but I think he is someone to think about especially because he is tough.

Stewart is having such a good season it might not be enough to get him. Clowe not having a goal all year lowers his value enough where Leo and Stafford could pull it off.

Players like Ott are tough to find and to think he only makes 2.9 per it would be a huge mistake to move him, he should be a leader on this team moving forward.

That is how I always judged him too until recently. I also did not realize he was only 23.

No.... not at all...

Stewart lead stl in scoring last I looked. He is physical, fights, and has a high motor.

He may be more physical, but he's just as inconsistent. I need him to string together a few good years before I change my opinion on him.

Someone mentioned earlier you need to get him in here and give him a chance to see what Buffalo is all about. Your odds are way better to trade for him than they are to talk him into coming here over other teams. What do you think those two players will pull in prospect/picks wise? I'd say probably not much.

I was thinking the same thing, either he really wants to get traded or he really wants to make the playoffs all of a sudden. I think he probably wants a trade to a contender.

This year. Last year he couldn't get off the 4th line. He's inconsistent. Just like Stafford.
