if by some chance they trade St Louis, they would tank big time. they already have a decent prospect pool outside of the goalies.

edit: apparently, their euro goalies are good prospects

- isaiah520

Yeah, that's the thing.. they do have some good prospects. If they trade St Louis, I say we counter with playing Leighton every game.

Word is Homer and director of player personnel are present at the Minnesota Wild game

I hope Homer is there to sign another Matt Read...

It's stupefying how they keep attracting the top college UFAs (Tyler Johnson, JT Brown, Andrej Sustr) despite being so terrible the past couple of years... that Steve Yzerman must be one hell of a recruiting talisman.
- Tomahawk

At least we're not striking out...the Flyers have done ok in the collegiate recruitment area...at least for forwards, lol.

No state income tax?!?! And they're right out of college they can keep participating in spring break action
- Just5

That's probably along the lines of what they're thinking... until they find themselves dumped in Norfolk or Syracuse.

Plenty of incentive to work toward that promotion, though!

Any updates? How those Flyers prospects looking?
- stveshdy

Decent but none on till 7 and I'm not sure I'm watching it.

QMJHL has 2 games on at 4 but after that I'm not sure which of the 4 OHL games I plan to focus on watching.

I would have promised Justin Schultz Kimmo's stall, the key to the city, a parade of willing coeds and all you can eat Geno's if that's what it took... ugh.

That would of been a nice add. Many people believed that you can't guarantee a kid that role without even knowing how he would fair at the NHL level. I wanted the Flyers to get him but no use thinking about it now.

Too it seems like these kids have an idea of where they wanna go, they can only make so much on a entry level deal so they pick whoever they want. With Shultz im pretty sure he was intent on playing Edmonton the whole time im sure ice time helped though.

any chance the flyers claim Bickel?

Pretty well overall. He's made some mistakes that lead to goals, but he's generally been solid and not as slow as he was built up to be. He's +1 on a very bad defensive team.

I don't recommend looking at the 2007 draft too closely. I just noticed that the Flyers took Kevin Marshall 41st and Montreal took PK Subban two spots later.

- Feanor

The Flyers didn't have a 2nd round pick and they traded up specifically to draft Marshall.

question-lets say the flyers come in dead last and lose the lottery for the #1, do we automatically get the #2 or could we pick as high as #15 with the new system?

No but potential 1st rounder Frederik Gauthier for Rimouski is playing. I have the game on mute since the broadcast is in French.

automatically pick 2

only difference is whoever wins moves up to # 1 instead of only up 5 spots. if i understand it correctly

You can't. He is doing a fantastic job in Columbus. That roster isn't all that great but they are playing well.
