3 straight home losses 7 games under 500 at home and Jackie boy is pleased. That sounds about right

We are slowly getting back in position for our next top 5 pick....Sabres and Caps ahead of us now in the standings.

Get our pick and make some moves and bring up Storme and nino next season and lose the dead weight like Bailey KO etc etc.

Here's hoping we get good return on any of our vets. You would have to think Vis and Streit can get us good return along with Nabby....only thing is I would like to keep all 3.

Wish we can at least get within top 2.....
We def need to start thinking of G for next yr, my suggestions are Bishop in FA or try and trade for Kiprosuff, Bernier, Schneider. Would like M. Smith but would command a lot of $$$$

Was talking with some one on the Oilers board, and he came up with an interesting trade that I liked.... Smid & Hemsky for Okoposo & Streit makes sense for both teams

We need defenceman!!!

We need to keep Streit, maybe Vis.... then add Reinhart in... maybe Donovan.

I think Poulin, Nilsson, Koskinen need a chance to play.

I understand your point, but keeping these 2 will not make our team better. They are old and only play offense, unless we get 2 shut down D-men, its useless to keep them. I would rather take my chances on trades or FA now that we are heading to Brooklyn.

Rather trade them to see what we can get, either picks or player

Next season with cap drop, quite a few more teams will have low cap room roster spots to fill: #flyers #canucks #blackhawks #habs

and

B.D. Gallof ‏@BDGallof
Most cap space next season? #isles - Million dollar question is if they use that space to offer cap relief to those teams to Acquire talent

I would wait and see what/how other teams do .......

I agree time to move on from Streit and Vish. I'll take my chances with Donovan filling one of the spots.

Donovan has an offensive game and is MUCH better defensively than both Streit & Viz, only thing the kid needs is NHL experience,

im all for the kid up here now, or next yr, tired of these over-paid lame-asssssesss

For quite a few years now, things just move glacially slow on Long Island. Never mind the big things, like a coaching change, a trade, or some type of major shakeup, it takes months just to do little things like...a significant change to lines, scratching the proper players, and stuff like that. To put it kindly, they are extremely...patient.

I remember this kid from a prospect game a couple of years back. He was a local invite playing college hockey, and stood out among all of our prospects. Go figure, an invite better than most of our draft picks.

If you could get high pick or a good player for Visnovsky and/or Streit, make the trade. The Islanders have 3 tough games (Caps, Flyers and Pitt) coming up. If they lose all three, they'll be sellers. I could live with Hickey and Donovan running the PP last month since they will be out of the playoffs.

A little conspiracy theory for your Sunday Afternoon:

Some of us feel Charles is being cheap because he's stripping the team down for a sale (don't agree). Others feel he's simply biding time until 2015 to spend due to the annual losses he endures.

Consider this, perhaps Charles is purposely low balling this team as a way to stick it to his two landloards, SMG and Nassau County. No matter how this team would have performed during the past two years, he'd still lose money.
However the better they did at the gate, the more money SMG and Nasssau would make due to taxes and lease parameters. Not only do both SMG and Nassau County make money off of the admission deal, but of course Nassau then makes an additional share off of taxes. It's quite possible that a bitter Charles Wang has determined that making no attempt to drastically improve this team while slowly building one to peak after 2015 only hurts SMG and Nassau County. In effect, why pay $10 million in extra salaries to make $5 million in additional revenue while SMG and Nassau gain their extra share without spending a dime?

I know if I was Charles and had received as many loud and clear messages from Nassau County saying they can live without the Islanders, I'd probably have no interest in lining that county's pockets at the expense of additional losses. I'm pretty sure Charles has some well paid bean counters who have informed him of every situation and I doubt he has much interest in hurtiing himself further to help those who sank the Isles to begin with.
