True, but I doubt that Gillis wants to add another NHL contract(I believe there close to the 50 limit), plus the Canucks have 8 defencemen already on the roster. I would give him a shot over Barker( ) just because he's a RHD, but not sure if it's worth burning the contract spot.

Sidney Crosby (2nd line C until Kesler's back, then shifts to wing), Pavel Datsyuk (3rd line C, or could bump to wing if AV would rather use Schroeder there), Shea Weber (3rd pair RHD, so Tanev can bump up to the 2nd pair with Edler).

Not sure we have the assets to get it done without trading this year's 1st rounder (would rather not since it's a deep draft), and one or both of Jensen/Gaunce (do we really want to sacrifice the future?).

Guess it depends whether Gillis feels those players put the team over the top...
