I don't like the idea of buying out anyone unless your name is redden or Gomez. Would rather get at least a draft pick. Heard 2nd and prospect could get Roy so connauton and 2nd bye bye |

You can get an assist any night, getting Edler to play a bit mean and aggressive is priceless - VANTEL
I guess, but I don't think it counts when it looked like an accident |

Keep in mind that that was 3 playoff games and Shanny said that playoff games are more meaningful when it comes to suspensions. This could be a biggie if he looks at this one the same way as Shaw's. - Nucker101
Hopefully he will look at it like Lucic /Miller oh wait our ownner is not Jaccobs |

Two birds with one stone—pick up a usable centre, and get rid of a prospect who has virtually no chance at ever being a regular NHL player |

If he did, then I agree. But it looked to me like he tried his best to avoid him, but was moving too fast. |

Kevin seems to be falling down the prospect charts with what's coming up. |

I'm not a fan. He's regressed under Arniel, after showing some improvement with Mac-T.
All he really has is his shot, and he's not too bad at protecting the puck—a few people who watch the Wolves religiously have said it makes more sense to convert him to wing, and that's the only chance he'll crack the NHL.

At least he was a second, rather than a first rounder...
Still looks like a waste of a pick, at this point.
But who knows, he was better under Mac-T (a lot of the prospects were) while paired with Tanev. |

Most of our picks are a waste. We might as well just trade our picks for other people's prospects |

Disagree completely. Outside of the wasted 2nd rounders on Connauton and Rodin, Gillis has done admirably with his picks.
Prospects take time.
Gillis has been here for 5 years and already his first 1st rounder is basically a point/game player for Buf, Schroeder is starting to look like a good NHLer, and Jensen and Gaunce are excelling at their levels. Not to mention late rounders like Corrado, Price, Cannata, and Andersson all looking like probable NHLers.
Tommernes, and Blomstrand are also already impact players in Europe, and are now coming to NA (Tommernes likely after his SEL team is finished the playoffs, where he has 3 assists in 4 games).
Looks pretty good to me. |

For Edler to have a hearing is appropriate, it is a dangerous play and should be reviewed (going through due process, and Nash should have one too). But how late Smith left his crease should be considered and their should be no fine or suspension for Edler. Smith and the rest of the league should recieve a memo educating them about the dangers of leaving the crease when an opponent is halfway into your zone travelling at full speed, be aware of your surroundings. |

Jeff Halpern could be a good stop-gap for 3/4 line C.. I would guess the Canucks put in a claim. |

That would likely mean they would go with Lapiere as 3rd line C, and either Ebbett or Schroeder comes out of the lineup. With Kesler likely done for the foreseeable future I think they need a little more than Halpern. |

Why hasn't the gm of the Canucks found a taker for Luongo yet? Didn't every team want him? Good luck getting any thing of value for that contract. Btw the Canucks have 1 more point than the Leafs...and the Nucks play in the softest division in the NHL this season. What a joke. |

Short term, though, he doesn't cost anything and adds some size, grit, and experience. If its not working out they can always waive him when they get some warm bodies back

Max lappierre is not a 3rd line centre. Van needs a good someone good defensively and good at face offs. Someone who can play physical too so when Kesler comes back can slot him on the 4th line like we did with manny. A shake up with a dman or two would also be good |
